It's extremely hot today,with hardly any breeze.  There is an Orange Alert for high temperatures today.

I might put my thermometer in the full sun now and see what happens!

Initially predicted to depart as of last night, the mass of hot air from Africa will now remain until Wednesday. Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura can expect temperatures in the mid-high 30s again today and the authorities have reiterated advice to at risk individuals to avoid exposure by staying indoors if possible, with windows closed. Sunday saw Tenerife South airport record its highest May temperature for half a century, the Met Office reports. Schools throughout the Canaries had to contact scores of parents due to the heat problems suffered by children in stifling classrooms yesterday.

Yep, it's certainly been hot alright! Actually too hot to sunbathe the past few days, never thought I'd ever hear myself say that! It's supposed to be 'cooling down' at the weekend, I say cooling down - back to the mid 20's.

If you`d ever experienced 40 deg heat you`d know it might as well be PI**NG down..Far too hot to sit out, walk etc do the normal things etc..

  Sadly a couple of Brits have died in the heat on the other Islands doing just that..Keep safe peeps

On one of the weather sources we use I've found there is a 'Weather warning alert" feed. I'm now putting that to appear automatically at the top of our sites when they have something to say -  and its wording is theirs - I have no control over the contents. The box will disappear when there is no alert - For us it will likely only appear when there is extreme heat, high winds or unusually high tides predicted. Unfortunately it only seems to alert for one day in advance.

The weather has been very hot but life has gone on as normal.
Here in Caleta the golf hotel beaches have been busy. More people in the shade and sea than normal. Plenty of people still on the golf course just taken more water with them. Our complex has seen plenty of people in the pool and sat out as normal but more using the brollies.I remember days on end of rain in the Lake District back in the UK, love the Lakes just hate the weather. Enjoy the sunshine its getting cooler as we speak...
