Easy jet price promise... it actually works!

Just thought I'd mention this as it might help other Easyjet flyers...

Easyjet have a price promise - it's hard to find amongst their T&C's but it DOES exist and is surprisingly easy to get.

I booked our August flights waaaay back in December (like you do) in the hopes they'd be cheaper. I paid £3143 for 6 seats. The same seats are now £1893 !!!

After much rigamarole (mostly time spent finding the price promise and how to claim it) and several phone calls, I actually got a voucher from Easyjet for the full £1250 price difference  :D :D :D I can use the voucher within 6 months to book any other flight.

I'm told actually using the voucher can be tricky but apparently you just need to book over the phone rather than online to get them to apply it.

Seemed too good to be true but it does seem to have worked so I thought I'd mention it. Based on this I plan to continue booking early but then checking the prices every few weeks in case they drop again.

You mean you actually found someone at Easyjet Customer Services??..well done but I think they might have disappeared when you get back to them..They are notoriously bad these days I`m afraid, but good luck  ;D

I'll update with how I get on using it. Soon as Easter flights are released I'll be booking.

Someone warned me it's difficult to use so I did a test run with a booking online and you can't use it there. I contacted Easyjet via Facebook which seems to be the only place where they do answer queries.... eventually. They confirmed you need to book by phone to use the voucher.

To be fair I didn't find their customer service on the phone too bad - after 15 minutes on hold that is.

Must admit, as a regular EJ flyer and someone who tends to book well in advance I hadn't heard of this so thanks very much justthe6ofus

Found this very easily on the EJ webbysite http://www.easyjet.com/en/help/booking/fare-pricing

and this also: https://www.lovemoney.com/news/20641/easyjet-claim-back-the-difference-if-prices-fall-before-you-fly

Sir Real

That's a shame, jt6ou.  Thought it might be useful at Christmas.  Ho hum.  I recall when Gatwick - Canaries flights were just BA, operated by a subsidiary or contractor airline.  I think queasyjet took over those routes, and monarch and cryinair also started flights.  More choice, but higher prices!  So much for competition...

The White Shirt

Anyone know if Jet2 have a similar arrangement?

Deso

As of 21st February, Easyjet have now stopped the price promise unless you are an Easyjet Plus member.   :'(

Looking forward to the day I tick the "One way only" box when booking flights to Fuerte. [:)]
