no i'm not a "mr clever clogs" far from it, all i did was pass an opinion then get accused of allsort's, and no again i could'nt name every spanish eatery in caleta, all i know is there's quite a few, also something i've said many time's is reading a post is often interprated completely different to the way it's written, having said that, if i get a "smart" remark i'll give one back, whether it be right or wrong, i don't live in caleta i have a place in costa antuiga i bought 12 yrs ago and spend many month's at a time there.

wishilivedincaleta

And all I asked was how busy does the Chinese get. Spend 2 weeks holiday a year in caleta and eat at the Chinese twice at the most. Hardly jetting 2000 miles just for the Chinese is it?
I think you may find that as someone just trying to request some info, your remark (or opinion) was quite degrading and insulting. If I wanted to eat there every night why is it ok for you to pass judgement on me just because I asked a simple question?

It's really not worth the bother of debating with some contributors, wishilivedincaleta! It seems every forum these days has its share of sad types with little in their lives other than to p*** on genuine postings with semi-literate bile. As you say, most of the people you will meet here in Caleta are friendly, as are most who contribute to the forum. Of those that add a little piquancy to the threads, most manage to at least do it with some wit and a few brain cells.

Out of interest, I do live in Caleta and I can state for the record that genuinely Spanish eateries are very, very few indeed, but the range of cuisines make eating out a pleasure in the town. We enjoyed steak in Fado Rock last night, and have a big party of us going Indian tonight....and probably Chinese later in the week!

not what you'd call adventureus, travel 2,000 mile's to the canaries for a holiday and enquire about a friggin chinese instead of trying something a little more local, sad really.   :( :(

Thank God for a bit of variety. You can't eat goat stew and tapas every night and lunchtime for two weeks.

You're right, there is a good variety of places. I wonder why there is no Chinese on the list  ??

After 21 years here, I've only eaten in two of those places listed. Fado once, and Nestor's once, I tend to favour Las Salinas , Pozo Negro, Chinese take-away, or one of the villages   :P
Has anybody eaten in all of those listed  ??

Woe....over the last 13 years I have eaten in all those listed....Some only once (and will never go back) and some many many times

Not eaten in 5/6/7 But all the rest. They have all been very good most of the time .I like Fado the owner and staff make a fuss and its such good value. El Patio next door would be in my top 5.

15 is Canadian owned and he's a Ammer. Also to put the record straight Denboy is a top geezer and so is his wife Janet (hee hee) Although I do ave photographic evidence that he was on mainland Spain recently eating doner kebabs

I honestly don't know how Fusion 22 got on there (maybe he has loads of mates who poll Tripadvisor) as it's the worst Indian restaurant I've visited. Was amused to see how his other restauramt Delicious 365 was really trashed on all the social media sites and forums when the Spanish waiter refused the blind guys guide dog into the 'restaurant' Pics of the waiter (ignorant / arrogant sod) were everywhere. It cost him a LOT of trade.
An apology was apparantley offered after the owner was shown all the posts. Shame on them for letting it happen.

Thanks for the character reference Appy, think i will get slated for eating Kebabs in Spain though. They were made by a Turk, and were lovely. Not really a kebab eater, but kept going back for more, thats how good they were.Just going on the Lloret de Mar forum now to recommend the restaurant.
Nearly forgot.....We are both fine thanks Fi,hope you're well too.Nice to see you back on the forum again,it needs some helpful, informed people on it ;D :)

bluefox

Denboy, you mentioned Loret De Ma, is that where you stayed ? if so, did you by any chance visit the resort sort of next door ? Tossa De Ma, reason i ask is just wondered what it's like these day's, it's where me and the mrs met 48yrs ago, keep saying we'll go back, maybe one day.

denboy

Paid a visit to Tossa de Mar,looked quiet a nice place.Would go back to either out of season again.Wouldn't go later, would be alive with youngsters wreaking havoc i think. Didn't find a decent Chinese though ;) :)

Regards, Neil
Looking forward to the day I tick the "One way only" box when booking flights to Fuerte. [:)]

denboy

I mean't in Lloret Neil.Only had a  flying visit to Tossa de mar.Went to see Salford play Catalans in Perpignan, now that is a lovely town, but very expensive. It's cheaper to stay in Lloret, and get the coach up to Perpignan. :)

bluefox

thank's for that D.B. hope it didn't turn into a mini Magaluf, what i remember most is the small cobbled narrow street's, probably called "the old town" these day's, just thought i must check out google earth might have been covered, sorry yer didn't find a "chinky".
