Would anyone be able to help please?
We visit next week and I was wondering what time is best to visit the Slowboat on Wednesdays or Saturdays? Is it best to get there when they open or maybe after the rush of customers later? I would prefer later is anyone would recommend this?
Thanks for your help.

Deso

Always busy on pensioner/locals/tightwads nights.  :D

You shouldn't have any problems whatever time you go.
Regards, Neil
Looking forward to the day I tick the "One way only" box when booking flights to Fuerte. [:)]

I find it's cheap enough ANY night..don't need to go cattle night (and then moan that favourite food had run out) and you still get 2 -4-1 drinks every night of the week
Avoid Weds & Sat would be my advice.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and im not sure about the former .....

Thanks for the replies.
Does it get quieter after any certain time?

meggie

Chinese in Caleta my word you will be wanting Sunday roast next?

wishilivedincaleta

Think il quit this forum. The comments are always sarcastic or insulting.... And to think I wanted to live in caleta.

wishilivedincaleta

Or maybe I should just holiday AI and not give any business to the local businesses or have any variation.

Deso

My comment was only meant as a light hearted one, hence the smiley.

We have a place in Caleta and plan to retire out there, there are many worse places to be and there are plenty of nice people there.  :D

Was not directed at you personally, just the last two posts I have posted have attracted sarcastic and unhelpful comments.

We too wanted to one day find a place in caleta and retire there, we do not miss our annual trip and are visiting more this year

What is the difference between eating Chinese in England, and eating Chinese in Caleta. If you like Chinese or a Sunday roast,it's your choice whatever you want to eat. >:(

The problem in Caleta Hev, is too many cheapos are obsessed with Happy Hours.

They don't realise Bar Owners have to pay: Taxes, Rent, Social Security, Music License, Staff, Stock, Fire Extinguishers, Accountant etc etc. No happy hour at the Cash & Carry, or the Landlord.  :o

Denboy l couldn,t agree more everybody should do whatever they like, their on holiday after all. As Hev said it was tongue in cheek following other posts where certain people have had a go at others for enquiring about Sunday roasts.

not what you'd call adventureus, travel 2,000 mile's to the canaries for a holiday and enquire about a friggin chinese instead of trying something a little more local, sad really.   :( :(

I heard the owners of apartments got it closed down because of the drunken dross that accumulated there.
Too much noise and foul language   :o

Apologies Meggie,i took what you said literally. It annoys me when someone tells people what they can and can't do on their holidays. :)

Here we go again.I've been going to Caleta three times a year for well over ten years and spend quiet a lot of evenings eating Tapas.I also like Chinese and typically English food. What is wrong with asking about about where to get a decent Chinese. It's not as if Caleta is a typical Spanish resort full of Spanish restaurants. >:(

try taking yer blindfold off !   ???

Ivemovedon

There's a few face t faces going on lately. Used to be for a pint and a chat ...now it seems like its for a tear up.f :o

wishilivedincaleta

Bluefox = the type of comments which in my opinion are far from helpful and quite frankly rude. Suprised if you live in Caleta as most I meet are friendly!

So please enlighten us Mr Clever Cloggs, how many Spanish owned restaurants are there in Caleta and please list them?!

And for the record, we eat out every night whilst on holiday at different restaurants and drink in different bars. I take a daily walk to the bakery rather than hiperdino and am happy to try local. And for one night I fancy a Chinese as they do a blinding and lively honestly roast pork which I have not found replicated in the uk!

By the way, Chinese was extremely busy Wednesday 13th April with a queue out the door and down the steps at 9ish.
