Question for Roar of the Rovers

The photo's you posted on the walks thread are wonderful. Could you tell me where the  Los Molinos walk starts, we have only walked in the north of the island, and is it very high? We are fit enough but I'm a bit iffy if its very high. I'm o.k. over volcano from Corralejo to Lajares but that's about my limit. We will be traveling there by bus. Thanks

Jeez that was a couple of years ago,we just parked up in Los Molinos and there is a sign post that points up the valley ,we walked up there and on to the top of the cliff  and along for a bit,its a bit rough underfoot on top then made our way down into the valley ( i dont think there was a proper path down,sorry i cant recall )and walked back along,this is a quite easy walk but you have to cross the water a couple of times ,a decent pair of trainers will do ,but you dont have to walk on the cliff you can just walk up the valley and back again,after all the rain i bet its lovely down there now.

The other pictures up to the top of Montana del Luna is a bit more difficult near the top but the views are fantastic ,but beware very windy up there .

There is a car park on the right on the plateau before you drop down to the village if you want walk it the other way.

We did the walk a couple of weeks ago starting at Los Molinos, walked up the barranco until a path climbs up to reach the road near Los Parcelos at a little car park. We then walked back at the higher level which is an easy smooth path. There are a couple of viewpoints and even a wooden bird hide to look down into the barranco from.

I'll try to put a presentation with photos together in the next few days

There is another good walk out of Betancuria on the track called camino barranco del sobrao ( google maps)to the top then turn right walk along the tops and then take a track on your right which leads down to the picnic area on a track called El Pinar and walk past the dam and back on the the fv-30 ,you walk through the only wooded area on the island(may be wrong but i havent seen any other) and back to Betancuria

It better be the only wooded area on the island, my book says it is.....



No bar Ronnie, but a great place to take a carry out and have a barbie. There are spaces for about 18 seperate BBQs...
