This past week I've noticed a police radar car parked at the first roundabout at El Matorral from Caleta. Also 2 police motorcycles with cars pulled over to the side. This morning the same, 2 police motorcycles with 3 cars pulled over. 2 of them were Goldcar cars.

Through El Matorral is 50 kph, there is a big yellow sign at each end of the village.
For anybody just arriving from the Airport, El Matorral is the first village on the way to Caleta, or the South. Don't start your holiday with a â,¬200 fine.

Thanks for that, Woe; it'll come in handy on Wednesday.... YAAAAY! 10 whole days of fishing heaven.

I heard the Police are breathaliyzing drivers of hire cars, as they drive out the airport at Matorral.
How many of you have a couple of drinks at the airport, and a couple on the plane, then rent a car  :o

I guess we ought not to complain when the British tourists drive on the left, either. After all, it's the law where they come from.

Yeah and let's not forget the the people killed and maimed every year by drunk drivers

Woe10, a very true observation and sadly a very true reality !
For this reason we always leave Fuerteventura during july/august.

What's a legal high? Whatever.

It's when you accidentally fit the booster seat in the driver's seat?

Brightspark

If you go through El Matorral always greet the people waiting at the bus stops

Anything that hasn't yet been banned. 200 years ago everything was a 'legal high' so you were just born too late.
