At long last it looks as if work has started removing the cranes from the top of the mountain, they have started work dismantling the left hand side one this morning.
Looks as if they will beat them taking the one down in Nuevo. :o :o

Globetrotter

Thats the first arm taken off, more following ??? ???

Nothing happening since the last update, the crane that was dismantling is still there but no activity, could be Siesta. ;) ;)

UPDATE 16.30
2 men now up the top of the next crane, no safety precautions (doesnt surprise me :o), mobile crane now moved nearer. :D :D

Globetrotter

Its scary watching these 2 men up there, the crane is swinging round as they are trying to attach the mobile crane. :o :o

Globetrotter

One man just stood on the top of the concrete ballast blocks trying to attach the hook, wow :-\ :-\

Will try later on, they seem to be having problems separating the tower sections on the second crane a lot of banging going on, although the arm is completely off

I would think the bolts are pretty rusty by now and will certainly take some shifting.

I thought Captain might have been out with his camera, he only has to lean over his side wall and they are in full view.   :D

Maybe they will all be gone by Wednesday??

The one they have taken down looks in remarkably good condition considering.

Did your daughter pass on my thanks for the loan of the ladders? I was that busy I forgot about the carnival although we did pop round and watch some of the parade before we had to go home.

Much appreciated and I still have all my fingers.   :D

Lol
Thank you, not much happening at the moment, the mobile crane is still up near the 2nd base but that crane has gone so guess its siesta time, more updates as they happen. :D :D

Globetrotter

UPDATE 17.45
Work now started on crane No. 4, missed out No.3. :D :D

potash

Them cranes have been our weather vain and good ones to, now what I suppose we will have to put a flag up for wind direction.

Globetrotter

UPDATE
Top part of No.4 gone now, only the tower left, each one seems to take longer I guess due to corrosion of the fixings. ;) ;)

The 2 blokes who are up there remind me of Fred Dibnah and his mate Harry who used to go up chimneys all over Lancashire with a ladder a couple of ropes and a lump hammer. The good old days before the health and safety boys shut the UK down.

Yes I remember watching him.
The last bit of No. 3 crane is just being hammered right now, not entirely gone yet ;) ;)
