Our week on the Island

 Well our long awaited break on the island arrived and with the Jeep packed up, grand kids strapped in, DVD player set up to keep them amused for the journey down to Manchester, off we went.
3.5 hours later we arrived at Jetpark 1, jumped on the circular bus and were at the Airport in 5 mins.

We arrived at Glenys's holiday Villa at 9 pm and met her management contact Shelagh who was waiting for us and with a slick handover of the keys and instructions for anything that needed adjusted, settled down for the night.

Next Day Sunday was glorious and not a cloud to be seen, and that was the golden opportunity to play a game with the kids of a £5 for every cloud they could count - I didn't lose any money

Monday through to Thursday was similar weather with one day being 27c according to the car temp readout. Towards the end of the week it did get a little cloudy at times, but still warm enough to rough it on the beach's

One interesting point to make is on the Sunday we took in a trip to the Lagoons North of the lighthouse and the change from our last visit was plain for all to see. The recent storms have dumped masses of seaweed onto the shore of the bays, with the resulting stench as it fermented and dried.  Hopefully it will have been removed before too long as it did waste the look of the place and reduce the beaches to a not pleasant look about them.

Before I go, would like to take this opportunity to thank Glenys for the use of her Villa. It was perfectly located, great near 180o sea views from it, and was literally home from home. I would have no hesitation in recommending her Villa for your holiday on the island, and of course Glenys can be contacted on here, should anyone wish to enquire of its availability.
