How was your first time in Fuerteventura, and and what made you choose it? I went having (to my shame) never heard of it and not expecting to like it. But I loved it. El Cotillo I thought was a little bit of Paradise, especially with the old beach bar, and we saw Erik in Rock Island. We've got married and come back with children since (not quite the same...). Just curious about other people's experiences.

I used to spend my winter holidays on Tenerife - mixture of mountain walking and naturist beaches. Whilst the mountains were more dramatic there, crime seemed to be on the increase and it got busier. I read that Fuerte' was  great for naturists (and it is), so I've been coming here ever since. I love the island!

umgum

i went in 1990 never been anywhere abroad before absolutely loved it seen so many changes but still ticks all the boxes

We first saw Fuerteventura in 1995 on a day trip from Lanzarote. We came over with our hire car, drove around a bit, and caught the ferry back, having seen enough to consider coming back again sometime for a holiday, which we did - but not until 2011! In between we took our naturist holidays on Formentera and at Hawksbill Resort on Antigua. A chance last minute late deal from Thomsons found us finally coming back to Fuerte in 2011, then 2012 and 2013. It is now a regular destination for us and we will back sometime each year hopefully. We just love the mountain scenery, the scary drives, magnificent Cofete, and of course being able to be relaxed naked on so many beaches.

First time was 17 years ago and stayed in Caleta when there was just a little shopping block just up from the beach with a supermarket, chemist and a few bars. Had a day out to Corralejo and thought it was great. Been back every year since now spending at least 4 months at a time here. Love it and never get tired of it. :D

I first went in 1995 when i was 18, was a last minute holiday with my Mum and Dad, we stayed in Corralejo for 2 weeks and had a fantastic time. My parents were regular visitors and loved it there. When my mum suddenly past away in 2012, myself and the other half went for a break away to Caleta de Fuste, was brilliant to relax and clear my head, been back numerous times since. Due to go out again in August  :D

meggie

Mrs meggie and I used to holiday a lot in Tenerife  and we also did Lanzarote and Gran Canaria, at that time it seemed everybody i talked to about Fuerte always seemed to poo poo the idea and put us off trying it,  includiing a Brit bar owner on Lanzorote when we had all but made our mind up to come over on the ferry to check it out. We finally decided to give it a try some years ago when it was a new destination from our local airport [Humberside]. We absolutely loved the place [better than any of the others] and we have returned for two weeks every October ever since. We still manage to see other parts of the world though by choosing different destinations for our June holidays. Unfortunately Humberside only did it that one year so since then i have to travel to Manchester for my flights but the rewards are well worth it.

Saw a photo of Risco del Paso & thought that a visit to Fuerte was in order. Travel agent suggested Corrie, but saw some good reviews about the Sol Elite Gorriones, so went there. (About 15 years ago)

Been returning to the south of the island ever since.

Can the Man

Came to a Fuerte about 11 or 12 years ago on a property mission, stayed in Caleta, bought an apartment in Corrie as an investment, unfortunately that didn't work out to well, and has cost me a lot of money.....to long a story to repeat.

Came over to use the apt. In Corrie, but kept gravitating to Caleta, so bought a place in Caleta and have been over on average 3-4 times per year. Plant to retire to Caleta when the time comes.

KWC

year 2000 we took a day trip over to the island from Lanzarote, landed in Corralejo after the obligatory sail around ilas de Lobos of course.

Loved every minute of our day trip, where a bus took us to the hotels on the big beach, and those wonderful sand dunes.
Paradise and apart from a couple of trips to Portugal, have been back every year, and on some occasions 3 times.

The island has peace and tranquility about it, and ticks all our boxes, and yes, I would like to buy and semi retire over their someday.

February 1991, wanted winter sun with my husband, didn't fancy Tenerife and had been on holiday with friends/previous partner to Grotty and Gran Canaria. The travel agent found a good deal to Fuerteventura staying at the Brisamar and the rest is history  :D Had a break for a couple of years and been on average 3 times a year since  :D Made lots of friends through this forum and on the Island and we will continue to visit.

1993 to San Valentine and had the best holiday ever.Came back in 1995 when youngest daughter was only 9 month. Next time then was Costa Calma in 2000,didnt like that.Since then have been back to Corrie just about every year at least once.
Will be back in 11 weeks and then again in October.

SoCal

For more than 25 years I have been looking for great naturists sites around the world. New Zealand, Ibiza and Formentera, southern France (Cap d'Agde is boring), Mexico, French Polynesia, Sardegna, Santa Barbara - either by myself or with Lady SoCal, I have visited many locations. Our travel policy has been: the world is too large so never visit any location twice.

That policy ended on that day in January of 2007 when I bicycled into a little seaside town on the far north west side of a volcanic island in the middle of nowhere.  When I saw naturist walking freely on the road and naturists and textiles comfortably mingling, I immediately ended my bike ride around the island and settled for a hotel in El Cotillo.  After a 2 year hiatus, I return for my 6th and longest visit next month.
Biking and beaches - total freedom

1988 was my first time. I was 19 and planning a trip to Croatia - but war broke out, so Fuerte was my second choice. Got a £169 deal at Lobos Bahia Club in Corralejo  - this complex was right on the edge of town at the time. Remember the apartment being invaded by cats and kittens who had to be removed with a broom!

Loved the place, but did not return for 7 years due to being penniless. Finally came back again when I was 26 and it then became a regular holiday destination. Looked at buying a place in Corrie, but too expensive, so gave up for a few years and went to mainland Spain instead.

Finally when I was 35 saw an apartment in Caleta I liked the look of, so went to have a proper viewing and it was just perfect. Now able to visit the island at least 4 times a year. Next over in April. Have managed to convert at least 10 other people into regular island visitors as  well. If only there was a commission arrangement with the authorities!

First time was about 2003.Was looking on the telly at teletext holidays,pre-home computers.Phoned up about a holiday in Tenerife, which wasn't available, and was offered a deal in Caleta de fuste, fuerteventura.I think I said where the hell is that. The girl dealing with me told me where it was, saying she had visited earlier in the year, and had a great time.Booked the holiday, had a great chill-out time, and have been coming back two or three times a year ever since. I used to laugh at people who holidayed in the same place every year, but just love the place.
