Recently a friend of mine was in the PDR Hospital with terminal cancer.

His last days were pretty horrible. There was nothing to distract him from his state at all. No Tv.  The phone connection was intermittent and there was no Wifi so he couldn't even get any joy from his tablet.

I am wondering about starting a petition to try and get Wifi for long term patients or perhaps thinking of lobbying Movistar or Vodafone to see if they would provide it.

It's too late for my friend but we may all end up in his place one day.

Can anyone give me tips on how to go about this please.

Have you checked with the hospital that they would allow wifi if you could get it? Seems a brilliant idea but not a lot of point of going to the effort if they say no. I know a lot of medical places don't allow mobiles to be used - would it be the same principle? Do they have it at other hospitals?
Wouldn't know how to go about any of this but it/you would have my support. Good luck.

I am so sorry about you friend..god bless.
I wouldnt know where to start but would support your mission.
Over the last 2.5 yrs I have spent a lot of time in the Puerto hospital and GC hospital for for cancer care and treatment (luckily im out the other side and now recovering) but it would have really helped to have wifi a. To pass the time ad its not a nice thing to go through and it helps to be able to keep in touch with far away friends n family if y ou are stuck there for weeks at a time b) i stil l had  a businiesto run which is mostly internebased so it would have been really good and less stressful if i could have used wifi.
Its normal these days to rely on wifi so would be good in the hospital
Anything that helps when you are imobile helps.
Good luck with it and keep us updated
