Hi guys was out for a walk this morning on way to the Atlantico centre and loads of police searching the waste ground and what looks like a crime scene set up next to the housing estate ( sorry don't know the name ) my wife a nosy cow and wants to know what's going on

No Appy.  The little man (known locally as Javier, although I don't think this was his real name) who used to wander around central Caleta in his slippers... cig in one hand, beer in the other.  Not a bad bone in his body. Eager to help anyone in exchange for a beer or bit of cash... as soon as he had any cash he would have his hair cut, shave and turn up for a few days in clean, smart clothes!  Bless him!

There was another homeless man that I was very friendly with. His name was Ubi Anderson. He was German or Dutch. He looked like Santa Claus and had long white hair and a long white beard. He spoke several languages fluently and became homeless because of night blindness when he could no longer get a license for the boat that he used to live on. We used to do the lottery together twice a week and he called me his lucky lady and always waited until I would arrive before buying the ticket and would write my name on it ....and we would then go back and see if he (we) had won. He disappeared suddenly around the time of the October fiesta in Caleta  two years ago and I always wondered if he was allright and what happened to him. I was really fond of him and used to enjoy our daily chats. He would be 78 or 79 now.

Just to quash the rumours that are are going around Caleta. He was NOT stabbed. Somebody said he was stabbed 7 times which is rediculous.

He had a Head trauma from a rock. At this stage it could have been from another person, why, I don't know as he had nothing to steal, or it could have been from a fall from the Bunker where he was Dossing. Let's wait until the autopsy before jumping to conclusions that there is a mad Murderer loose in Caleta.

A sad post indeed. I do get the impression that the gent concerned was well regarded in the town. I hope so, during my visits it seems to me that Caleta is a big village and that the less fortunate are looked after.

What a really sad end for him ,we saw him early this week can in hand walking round the white centre bothering nobody and just surviving!
I just hope the individuals who committed this dreadful act are caught and dealt with !
