Got them on both sides of me now, on the Golf. Half-term holidays isn't it. I'm going out for the afternoon, I can't wait to leave here in December, back to my quiet Village.

Ole Man River

My sympathy is with you Woe. At times it can be difficult to remember that they are necessary for the island`s economy.   Try ear plugs or go down the pub!  8) 8) 8)

I did go down to the pub for a bit of peace and quiet. I have 5 Germans on one side with no respect for anybody. And the others are Brits with 4 screaming kids. None of them have rental cars so are staying in. Nothing for the Island's economy except for Spar and the Villa owners, who probably don't pay any Tax on their Rentals.

Anyway, I'm out of here soon. Thankfully I never bought on the Golf Course.

Ah peace and quiet and no foreigners! - try my beautiful apartment in the county town of Pajara, voted 7th most beautiful village in Spain and it's Islands. Pajara is 625 feet above sea level so always temperate,  the tourist arrive and leave between 10am and 2pm daily. One of the best pools on the Island, free to residents, one bus a day to Tuineje, a stones throw from the National Monument of Ajuy, No hotels or apartment complexes to worry about - just a few extended families from Gran Canaria or Tennerife to visit in August  Proper Majoraro Xmas dinners, Romerias and other annual festivals or get invited to local weddings, christenings and funerals. NO motorbikes or mopeds after 10pm AND NO horrid management fees

Go to www.apartmentinpajara.com for further information about Nirvana

Thanks Woe for giving me the opportunity of a plug

Maybe they'll go all inclusive next year.

Do you EVER stop whinging?

If I stopped whinging then you (as in YOU) would struggle to contribute towards this forum.
You seem slightly obsessed with me, which is fine, but I warn you now that unfortunately I am in a happy relationship and won't be looking elsewhere.
I hope in future that you might be able to make another 40 posts without 2/3's of them being about me.

Is it for rent.  I wouldn't buy anything here until I've lived in it for 6 months.

Xmas, Easter, Half-term, Summer holidays, Half-term again. The owners don't know who are renting their villas, from Owners Direct etc ..   It's been a nightmare all year. In August, the Villa next to my friend down the road, was rented out to 2 couples. They didn't mention the 6 kids they brought with them. Effing and Blinding all day, jumping and diving in the pool at 2.30 am. When she complained to them, they just said F... Off.

ADVICE:
If you're are buying on the Golf Course, for a peaceful retirement, go for an Apt. out of earshot of any communal pools, and definately not a Villa with a pool, or you'll be sorry.

Woe, is there any chance you can change to topic of this thread to something more "super happy funtime"?
The mentally frail brigade (or the MFB) are not happy about people whinging.

Woe to hear you talk you wouldn't think it was a holiday resort . And near a golf course at that. Of course the owners don't know who's renting same as the hotels don't know whos turning up either. Hard to tell from an e mail or a phone call exactly what you got on the other end.

If you want peaceful retirement its probably not the place to be.

Spike On Q

Yes its now on rent to you Woe for six months, you've got a deal - now we've just got talk money but you'll be surprised how cheap things are away from the resort areas

"Money, money, money, money, money"

A Hotel is a Hotel, excuse me for thinking that the Golf Course had Private Residential Villas on it, where people actually LIVE, and get up in the morning to go to work, or retired.

It's turned out to be a Posh version of Caleta Gardens. Same people, different location.

"If you want peaceful retirement its probably not the place to be." - Correct

Its the old connundrum. Residential or touristic?. Anyone who has to get up for work or wants tranquil retirement and buys (or rents) anywhere near property where holidaymakers are hammering away legally or illegally really ought to see a doctor. Lets face it commuting on the island is not exactly a time consuming hardship.

You're right stedge, I used to live in a Village 20 minutes away, but moved back to Caleta for business reasons. Now, I have come to the conclusion that it's not worth the stress, and will be moving back to the Village  ;D
