I think ex-pats should get a Summer Air-Conditioning Allowance included in their pension, as well as Winter Fuel Allawance.

Lovely and hot but a bit of rain today also.

Wasn't so hot today (Tuesday) - we had a small shower on the beach (Corralejo Grandes Playas) this afternoon and it has been spitting on and off ever since. Funny to watch the holiday makers scurrying off the beach when 5 minutes earlier they had been happily playing in the sea! Wasn't enough rain to water the garden but it was a nice change from the blistering heat we've been having. (Hope the heat is back tomorrow though!)

I'm busy campaigning for a yearly beer allowance for you as well woe, it must be so difficult living there all the year round

Absolutely boiling down here in Cornwall. The sea is turquoise and looks like the Med. Loads of boats bobbing in the cove and the beer is cold. 

(Just thought I'd throw that in .......not that I'm jealous of you lot or anything )
