Stella Canaris Resort - Jandia

I have been staying at the Stella Canaris resort in Jandia for the last 7 years. I have booked for christmas as usual this year but have just contacted the hotel regarding something else and have been told there is a general strike within the hotel. Does anyone live near or know anything about what is going on at the hotel.  I don't know what to do as I have booked my flights etc and the hotel now can't confirm whether it will be open or not come December. Can anyone help? I also wouldn't know where else to stay. I love all of Jandia and know other hotels look nice, but we have always gone back because of the staff and the fantastic animation crew. Hopefully the problem will resolve but just don't know. I know previously the hotel was run by Dunas for a few years and then bought back by Stella Canaris. Can anyone shed any light? Thanks

Thank you for your quick responce. Thats horrible. Whats to happen though? Suppose will just have to wait and see. The staff have always looked so happy to work there. Hope they are paid.

with all respect - the owner made some big financial mistakes during last few years, eg invested into something else nearby instead of investing into the resort itself ...
