Flights and Fights: Inside the Low Cost Airlines

Documentary telling the inside story of low-cost airlines. Companies like Ryanair and EasyJet turned the aviation industry on its head - but how much further can they grow?

Cue the usual suspects bleating about Ryanair!

Not so low cost anymore after adding on hold luggage etc.  >:(

Still low cost compared to the Thomson Twins. I watched the program and liked the orange juice tale!
Just booked an FR flight, it`s like taking an exam now, do you want transfer to the airport? do you want transfer to the hotel? do you want insurance? do you want a hire car? do you want any euros? and you can`t skip any questions either, it won`t let you move on unless you tick the box/click in the radio button. Then it told me I had made a mistake and had to go back and check my details. Fine except the boxes were greyed out so I couldn`t alter anything even if I had wanted to. After parping around for a couple of minutes voila! confirmation page appeared. Still, glad I did it `cos the price went up sixty quid next day.
Mentor to the boneheads.

I would have liked to have seen that. The link wont play in Ireland unfortunately.

Michael announced recently that he was intending to put on 200 new routes with their  175 new planes.

Hi FiFi

Yes I think he mentioned buying ~ 150 new planes, whilst Stelios (EJ), was against his management team buying any new ones !!

fifi

Are they Gramster? I didnt know that. Thanks Admin for the tip. I will try that tomorrow and see how it goes. :)

We should be thankful for EJ/RA/J2 - The other companies have ripped us off for long enough........

dagwood

Just a bytheway. If you were having one of them over to entertain your guests at dinner would you choose Caroline or Michael. Of course assuming your guests were open minded.

Paul Kirkham

i thought it was a really good programme especially when Michael admits everything he says is for publicity !!!! lets be honest Stelios was the pioneer for us all to have the possibility of cheap flights and for us all to stick 2 fingers up at the other 2 robbin gits so long may these low cost airlines continue as the alternative is high cost airlines

Ryanair was established in 1985 - 10 years before Stelios started easyJet.
