UK To Get Colder - Canary Islands To Get Hotter ???

WHY THE COLD WEATHER WON'T GO: BELTS OF FAST FLOWING WIND BLOCKED FROM MOVING

Jet streams are belts of fast flowing, narrow air currents found in the atmosphere, formed near air masses with significantly different temperatures.
They are responsible for moving weather around the latitudes.
The Polar jet stream, which is the most northerly jet stream, affects the UK, and tends to be further south in the winter and further north in the summer.
Recently, the jet stream has been further south - which is why the UK has experienced such wet summers.

Currently, the jet stream has split in two - part of the belt is at the bottom of the Mediterranean, and the other part is sitting at the north of the UK.
A band of high pressure is blocking the path of the jet stream, meaning that the present weather conditions will stay until this pressure moves.
When the high pressure does move, the UK could experience warmer - and wetter - weather.
The jet stream is expected to drive weather from the west - which is typically milder than the cold eastern winds.

Have given up on any sort of weather improvement in the UK tbh......just as long as that jetstream lets the warm air and NO rain towards the Island week after next ..after this Goddamn winter the hotter the better

I don't mind the cold winters,plenty of snow etc as long as the balance is right and we get a decent summer ? Seems totally unfair to me to have rain all the time(like last year)and a less than perfect winter but i expect bad weather in the winter,it's when it should be sunny and warm in the summer and it's not that's so frustrating...........

I'm soon going to have to have TWO wardrobes - T Shirt and shorts for home and thermals, scarf and gloves for the trips to the UK. What a bummer!
