On Saturday night a Civil Guard was attacked in Caleta. The near fatal stoning resulted in him being flown by helicopter for treatment to Las Palmas. Although several people were involved in the attack only two were arrested. They were related to one of the five Civil Guards who were arrested recently for drug smuggling in Corralejo. The same night a Security guard from one of the Leisure centres in Caleta was attacked but did not require hospitalisation.

It sounds like a revenge attack allright Kenny. The person who was attacked must have snitched.  Otherwise why would they have mentioned that the two people who were arrested were related to one of the Guards that was arrested for the smuggling operation?

A homeowner was attacked on Friday eve for complaining about late night noise in a residential complex in the center of Caleta. At this moment I dont know if it was fellow residents or hoidaymakers who were causing the problem.

Castillo Mar is one of the quiet complexes in Caleta, it just takes one bad person to cause trouble. The owner is ok now, a bit bruised but no permanent damage.  To so called assailant is allegedly a squatter on the complex and causes nothing but trouble, but  he knows the law and until the apt in question is taken over by the bank seemingly there is nothing can be done about him, except call the civil Guards every now and then, and a fat lot of use they are.
