It would be best to contact an Assesoria over here, as the regulations about who can legally stay here on the island, have been tightened up over the past few months.

You may also wish to seek tax advice in the UK. You need to elect to pay tax in either Spain or the UK. Alot depends on where the funds are generated

Here you would need to prove your family income is suitable to sustain yourselves - in Malta for instance, for a couple, the requirement is 23,000.00 Euros per annum, but I don't know if a figure has been decided upon here yet [FiFi?]

Healthcare - you would need private healthcare and this can be obtained locally. The cost depends on the cover you require but there are various expat providers that can give you advice -just Google it

How old are your children and do they speak Spanish, a major consideration in any move?

According to JA's website you now have to provide proof of permanent employment in the Canaries to  stay for more than 3 months. If not employed you have to provide proof of 'sufficient income' and private healthcare. This is unconfirmed, but it seems someone in Tenerife has been asked to deposit 56,000 euro in a designated account!!

It is therefore crucial that you check out what the requirements are for Fuerteventura before moving over. Otherwise you may find yourself moving back after 3 months, unable to meet the criteria to gain Residencia.

Hi Cool Cat - I don't wish to appear negative but reading through the various thread here from you may I suggest you study your move here in much more detail

It would be a disaster to move yourself and your children here only to find out there were major problems you had not foreseen

It has happened so many times before -
