Searching for waves, social life and accommodation?

Hello,

Im planning on moving to Fuerteventura on the 21st of February in search of decent accommodation, broadband Internet  in social town with great surf. Can any one recommend a good area to live in?  ill im planning on living in the area for 3 to 5 months.

Agreed, Corralejo has the night life, bars and atmosphere and I am sure broadband.

You are close enought to El Cotillo where the surf looks pretty good. (not that I am a surfer)

We find it a good location for travelling around the North. I am sure the South has a vast amount of surfing spots.

Hi we have been here 3 mnths and currenlty live in Bristol area of Corralejo.  When we came over in Oct to look at the place we stayed in the apartments around Inekia sufr school and got a very basic apartment for 25 euros a night.  PLenty of option out there and one tip when you get here head to Banana bar cheapest beer on the island.  I live near Ineka so if you want me to have a walk around and get some numbers for the apartments there then let me know

Corralejo has the lot, believe me!

We moved here nine months ago and haven't regretted it for a second. We live out at Tamaragua (mainly to stop ourselves doing the round of music bars every single night and wrecking our health ) and we've got a 10 Meg Internet service, which actually manages to deliver over 8 all the time and is very reliable. I run my business over the Internet and it's good enough for that. I don't know too much about surfing but there's certainly a lot around here, with the alternative spot of El Cotillo on the western side of the island not far away if weather conditions favour it: one day there'll be loads of cars and vans with boards on their roof racks going in one direction; the next they may be taking the opposite route.

El Cotillo must be one of the worst places to surf on the island. Conditions are only rarely ideal, most of the time the waves are heavy dumpers with no peeling and will only support a three or four second ride. Then it can go flat and no good for anything. When it does work it is very good and you can tell it`s on by the number of locals that turn up, skiving off work and skipping school. The biggest con going are the surf schools that turn up, give the clients fifteen minutes of pointless warm up exercises , fifteen minutes of belly flopping onto the board instruction, fifteen minutes of pratting around in the shore break white water  and then off they go back to town.
