Flying sand, natural park Dunes of Corralejo, Fuerteventura

to be honest I thought it would be the last thing I took with my camera, what with all the sand flying. But it seems ok (fingers crossed), just the lens zoom is making funny noises - must be a few grains of sand between cylinders. Hope I don't need to fix it - last time canon shop in Puerto had to send it to peninsula for fixing and it took three month for it to come back

Two thirds of the way through the video, have you noticed the dying FLY on the lens??? Nice video.

Thanks! that's not a fly, it's a dry leaf that was blown by the wind together with all the sand :) that is, if you mean small black thing that moves from left to right and down :)

The edge was impressively sharp on that particular  dune.

It has a vaguely horse-shoe shape, so probably can be called a barkhan. ( I know it doesn't really matter, it's just I like to know names of things )

wind in the dunes of Corralejo

and this one was taken today, about ten minutes before the rain. You can see how a sharp crest is forming on a dune

Thanks Paddster :)
