In todays Island Connections it reports the arrival of the 6th heatwave of the summer from this Sunday 19 August:

Weather forecasters have warned of yet another spell of very warm weather for the Canaries as of Sunday. The warm front beginning to affect southern Spain will make its presence felt as of the end of the week-end, according to the Met Office.

Temperatures are expected to remain high for most of the week, peaking on Wednesday and Thursday, with the easternmost islands (Lanzarote and Fuerteventura) worst affected. The Office says it is too early to say whether an orange alert level will be issued for the days in question. The heatwave will be the sixth to affect the Canaries this summer so far and will produce more anxious moments due to the risk of fires.
