Yellow weather warnings

Admin, can you do something about these.  I go through the posts each day and what happens is:

1. Page and topics displayed
2. I decide to open a topic, go to click with the mouse
3. Yellow box displayed
4. Topics shifted down
5. Click completed
6. Missed the topic and hit one I didn't want!!

I suspect it is something to do with sequence in which the items are coded and warnings are added at the end.

Annoying but not critical and I should be a little more patient!

Yup. That happens to me too.
The delay happens as the alerts information is slow in generating. Our code then detects when there is an alert and when there is, changes the CSS to make its container div the suitable size. That's when the alert appears and pushes the rest of the page down.

I think the alerts are useful even if vague - we have no control over their content - they do at least let us know there may be something worth finding more information about.

I can look into replacing the current box with a smaller one that would go at the top of the left hand column so only the left column will get shifted down but I will be unable to do that in the next few days.

Sorted. ......... I think ....

Much better - thenk you!  I've just been sat waiting for everything to move down to accomodate the Weather Alert and I didn't actually notice it has moved at first  :)

I don't have access to Windows at the moment.

This is what I can see on Firefox....and Windows vista. It is a 17inch laptop....dont know if that makes a difference or not.

I use Mozilla Firefox and its been fine on mine since you tweaked it earlier

(You would think that we'd have better things to do on a Saturday night though wouldn't you  :)?)
