What did you see, back then?

We had two TVs at that time: one for the sound (if you hit it on the right spot), the other for vision. But the vision that night wasn't colour; it wasn't even black and white; it was grey on grey!

I imagined I saw the touch-down, and Neil coming down the ladder etc, but I wasn't really sure. I certainly heard those immortal words - clichéd they may be, but they still make me choke up because it really was one hell of a step. I've seen it since and I reckon the imagination did quite well though.

I thought we'd be seeing the first manned missions to Mars by now, but the world seems to be going backwards at the moment. So sad!

The technology in the sixties was not that high. Your mobile phone has more computing power than their big computers.
Taking off from the moon, getting into the same orbit and connecting to the capsule seems like a Jules Verne story.

same here, read up on some of the photos and the waving flag ect..... and that foot print to make it like that you have to have some moisture on the ground.

Right up my street. 

If you want a similar footprint just throw some dry cement down and viola. The waving flag normally shown was being twisted into the ground which of course made it appear to waft in a wind. There is one other which an astronaut walked by as it wiggled a little but it could've been static electricity, it's hard to tell considering where he was.

Just about everything is explainable except for possibly the van allen belt which did cause problems before yet nowhere near as far out.

The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter is a satellite taking detailed pictures of the moon.
These images of lunar landings 12,14 and 17 are not very convincing as they are very blurred.

Anyone handy with Photoshop can produce this.
