Surfing Lessons

Any recommendations or advice for a first-timer looking to get a couple of lessons in while on a week's holiday in Corralejo please?

Thanks viva but it's not for me it's for my daughter. I won't be over there, my wife will but there's no way she'll drive down to La Pared twice in a week. She's not very confident at the driving on the wrong side of the road kind of thing.

Good advice though other than the travelling, it does look fantastic there.

Cotillo must be the worst beach in the world to learn to surf. The waves are just big dumpers that give a three second ride at best. The so called surf schools take their pupils there and it`s noticeable that no locals surf there except on the very rare occasion  when surfable waves pump up

Cotillo is generally one massive close out wave unless swell, wind and sand bank conditions are perfect. This happens about 5 times a year. Add to this the hideous rips that run down the entire length of the beach dragging you to places you don't want to be. Amazed that so many surf schools choose this beach, can only think it's an easy option as they can keep their eye on everybody getting dragged along by the same rip.

Banjo tell your daughter to walk along the beach path out of  Corralejo until she reaches the Sunset Lounge. They will arrange lessons for her.
