A clergyman was in the Rectory garden tending to the roses, when it started to rain, he went inside to shelter. weather got worse turning into a violent storm and the roads into rivers. By this time the waters were rising fast and was rising in the rectory living room, A rowing boat came along and the oarsman called out to the clergyman, climb into the boat father we will save you!  To which the clergyman replied "go and save someone else my son, for I have faith and my Lord will save me". the rowing boat went on its way, and the rain was coming down harder and the water still rising forcing the clergyman to go upstairs he was looking through the bedroom window when a motor launch appeared, the deckhand called out to him climb into the boat father we will save you! and as before he replied "go save someone else my son, for I have faith and my Lord will save me". The motor launch went on its way, and the weather had turned into a violent storm forcing the clergyman onto the rectory roof and he was clinging to the chimney, when a helicopter appeared and a winch man was lowered down to him, the winch man said put the harness on father and we will save you, and again the clergyman said "go save someone else my son for I have faith and my Lord will save me" so the helicopter went on its way, the clergyman lost his grip on the chimney and was drowned, his soul departed his body and went to heaven were he was met by St. Peter at the Pearly Gates  "where is my Lord I want to see Him" the clergyman cried out! Go through the Gates my son and you will find Him waiting for you. and the clergyman came before God "Sixty two years I have served you man and boy my Lord' Where were you when I needed you" he asked, and God replied "I sent two boats and a helicopter what more did you want me to do!!!
