Delivery from UK

Hi all. Have a king sized mattress, currently in Manchester, which I need transporting to Fuerte. Anyone moving out here soon/using a container/bringing a van across etc, etc -no great hurry, can look at various alternatives.

Hi tl,
Woodside are the best if you have to send one over but I would look at the costs first, unless it is a particularly valuable or unusual one it is likely to be as efficient buying one on the island.
Prices are similar of better than UK & Woodside works on volume so a king size is likely to be (at a guestimate) about 3/4 cubic metre so may be significant cost

Thanks for the replies. Woodside will only ship the item from a depot in Gloucester (which I am surprised about, as when we moved here, they collected our furniture from home). TC Freight want 240 sterling! Could do with either getting it delivered to Gloucester, or preferably, picked up and shipped over. A man with a van would be ideal. Any ideas folks? TIA.

Collecting a reasonable amount of furniture is one thing, sending a van to Manchester to pick up one mattress is totally another, it is a van plus driver gone for the day add in fuel costs??? not really a good idea. 2/3 years ago as part of my business we would occasionally hire a van and driver for short periods, and back then it was £100 a day plus fuel do the maths.

If it's the bother of purchasing over here, have no worries. You can do it from your computer.

We just purchased from a company in Tenerife that sells almost at cost. They make profit on a volume basis. Delivery is FOC. It took 3 days to arrive!!

We're talking good quality! No point giving prices as there is such a variance in mattress type, etc.
We spent 400 euros; But good quality can be had for 200euros on 150cm x 200cm mattresses.

Cheapest way to get it to the Island would be to carefully make five holes  in the sides One in the top end, one in each side and two at the foot end. A bit of jiggling arould with the springs and you could wear it as a onesie.

You wouldn't take up any more room on the aircraft than some people we saw recently ! !   

Thanks, calculator. I can't find a proper orthopaedic mattress anywhere on the island - the "in" thing here is obviously memory foam! Do the place in Lanza do any orthopaedic ones and if so could you forward details please? Thanks.

Woodside WILL collect from Manchester but it does add to the cost (as per our e-mails). If the supplier had delivered to our depot at Gloucester, as requested, then you would pay less. A "man with van" will cost you more than our quote and TC quote.

Central Hogar in PDR do orthopaedic mattresses. Look for the lime green building on the left after you pass Lidl driving towards Las Rotundas.
