Hi All, can anyone suggest where I might be able to buy 2 double bed head boards. We spent an age looking for furniture in April when we were out for 10 days. Not much choice and very expensive. In fact Very hard to buy even things like beds unless your prepared to wait 6 weeks for delivery. I will be out for a week at the end of September and hope to move things forward then.

In the retail area up beside ideal & electron in PDR there are three furniture shops. Tuco & a couple of others (can't remember names, sorry). One of the is all laid out with furniture arranged in bays as rooms, at the back of that shop are stacks & stacks of headboards of all types & sizes to take away. I also bought bed bases in the same shop to take away. HTH. . Cheers . . Ron

Ikea in El Matoral estate, we had to replace all our furniture last November/December, bought 2 x double beds, L shaped couch with pull out bed, bedside lockers and some other stuff. They delivered for about â,¬50, and they also did the assembly for about â,¬130, and only took 3 hours.
We visited Ikea in Ireland first, picked out what we wanted got the codes went on the Ikea Spanish site, ordered what we needed, very happy with the service.

Hi Ron, I think we visited the same shop in April and at the time they had about 4 or 5 but will try again. Thanks for the info though.

Hi Can, again, we have had some furniture from IKEA and to be fair they were really good but they don't have any head boards. I need to order some more stuff from them so will see if anything has changed re products. Thanks again for the info.

Regards Paul.

Waiting six weeks for delivery..........   It's the way it works out here!!!!

I well remember when we were buying our property (2015) and there was a fault with the patio doors. It still hadn't been fixed when we completed the purchase three months later, so I complained bitterly and said I would not complete on the sale.

I got a very terse email from the Spanish vendor, along the lines of you Brits expect everything to be done by tomorrow, this isn't the British empire anymore, manana!!!

The doors were replaced about three months later and I was told it had been a rush job to satisfy the English buyer!!

You have to learn that everything works at a much slower pace out here!!!

Tomorrow, I get a new three piece suite delivered.  Only 75 days since ordering.

Having said that, as has been said, the three shops by Ideal, Tuco, Laver and Tabaco???, generally have headboard in stock or Ikea can get them usually within 24 hours.

Hi Paul,
That is surprising then. We were there early May & they had pretty much the same stock levels (loads) that had been there when I was out in February this year. Was that right at the back of the shop ? I am sure it was either Tabarto or Laver, definitely not Tuco
Cheers

The shop spitfire58 describes is Tobarato and probably the cheapest for headboards

Big thanks to all that replied. I will revisit all the shops when I'm out and hope to be more successful next time. Thanks Linda, but I think we have our hearts set on some upholstered ones, preferably leather but beggars can't be choosers.

Many Thanks,
Paul.
