Caleta is packed. The new beach is full. The Atlantico beach is full and the bars and restaurants are booming. The weather is 10/10. Even the Camel man is on overtime. Happy days..

I've only heard complaints about the beach. Gravel, not sand.

what is even worse is that they have put normal sand on the volleyball court... Mrs Ster made the point that how will youngters play in the sand !!, and I wouldn't like one of my children to fall on the stuff...

I think they put decent sand down in volleyball area , as there were volleyball championship on the other month and the sand wasn't suitable for it !

The Sand on the volley ball court is I am told different to the Sh*te that is on the beach, but that was not good enough for the recent volley ball tournament, where after many complaints they trucked sand in from somewhere in L Olivia.

Atlantico is packed because main beach is poor.....in fact i wouldn't call it a beach. Same goes for Puerto town beach, which although small was lovely, now it is bigger but poor quality sand.

Sorry to disagree but it is not like all the beaches all over the world nothing at all like them, have you had a look at the beaches in Corralejo, Olivia beach, or at El Cotillo now they are stunning, and real and will not wash away with the first big spring tides

The only complainers/whingers/general scum are the people that like to give the impression that they are sophisticated individuals who have seen the world, etc.

Caleta is OK, it serves a particular clientele, in the same way that Corralejo serves a different and particular clientele.

Some would argue that sotavento is amaaaaaaazing, but if u actually walk on the "sand", it's just piles of sticky mud with millions of insects biting your ankles, lol.

Its a Town beach, and comparing it to the other fantastic natural beaches on the island is stupid. If i was on holiday and that was outside my hotel, i would have no complaints , looks fantastic, but yes is a little course, but so are many other "natural" beaches on the islands.     Still, it gives people something to moan about.

Caleta's not my town but if it was I'd expect more. A natural beach is just that..natural. Cost nobody a single euro to put down. No decision can be made on what it should look like or it's quality. Man made at someone's expense is different. If you are going to do it and spend money why not do it properly, after all it's beaches are probably the main tourist draw the town has to offer.

That was the original plan I read, before someone thought of dredging the harbour to use on the beach!
Wait until it rains hard and the road will be undermined.

Forget the sand on the beach get back to what this thread was Caleta is packed I have been coming to Caleta for over twenty years and I've never known it to be so busy I always get over in sept but this year looks like I will not be over I have been trying to book a week but the self catering accommodation that I normally stay in is fully booked and most other places only have bookings for oct I have found a few but they are up the hill and that is no good for me being disabled it`s  too far to get into the centre but it is good for anyone who has a business over there

This character has obviously not been to Weston Super Mare or Brean "Sands" now there you are talking mud.

The old beach would half flood with a 2 meter tide which could happen several times a week. The new beech is a least 4 ft higher and does not flood. The sand is ok it has small sea shells in it as it has come from the sea bed. Looking at it yesterday packed with happy kids and families on it I cant see a problem. If you don't like it find a beach you like .Simple.
