Tuesday and Friday. The Artisan Market is in the Campanario Centre on Sunday morning. That one is the best IMO.

I'd agree the Artisan's market on Sunday is great.

I forgot about the Thursday market in the Campanario. If I remember correctly it is for people selling for charities.

All the markets are terrible, either Africans selling tourist trash or second hand junk stalls , the only exception is the bred and cake stall.

Agree about the markets in town. They sell mostly tat. Some of the stalls at the Campanario on Sunday sell some nice hand made jewellery etc. which make nice light gifts to take home.  The atmosphere is really good too. Got to agree about the bread and cakes, best I`ve bought on the island!

As said Tuesday and Friday Campanerio mornings till around 1/2 pm. And at Baku water park the other market defo fridays and pretty certain Tuesdays.  Lots of the African stalls - make sure you barter.

Can't imagine why folk pay good money to travel to the sunshine and then spend their time traipsing around dreary tacky markets.  Whatever turns you on, I guess.

For me it was a case of once youv`e been, youv`e been. The main market is just a series of stalls that all sell the same items and are all staffed by the same race. The goods on sale are poor quality or fake counterfeit stuff, Rolex and Tag Heur watches and "leather " goods that look the business but will drop to bits when put in use. Not nice people either, they can be very aggressive if you try to just look without buying. The Campanario market is very different, just a glorified fleamarket with stalls selling unwanted household items and clothing, as we stopped nearby and   shopped in the Campanario daily we went through the market on the way to the supermarket and so soon decided "nothing to see here" but then, I wouldn`t go to the local flea market back home either, and it`s just across the road in the park.

The flea or second hand market at Campanerio has stopped.  It's now only the craft market on a Thursday and Saturday isn't it?

The craft market at the Campanario is just about the only one we will go to, which means that it's worth a visit. About half the stalls are selling genuine craft - handmade children's clothes are very worthwhile, paintings, handprinted t-shirts, sculpture, cards, proper jewellery etc etc. Mostly seems to be locals and expats trying to earn a few bob, rather than traders. It isn't the usual 'artisan' market, which always turn out to be 'trendy' and overpriced. Give it a try.
The rest is the usual beaded earrings and bracelets, photos and the inevitable 'healing' copper bracelets.

Haven't been to the Baku one for some time, but it was worth a visit.

The market at the top of town - African stallholders, all selling exactly the same clothes, cheap jewellery and fake designer leather belts and bags, and hardly anything else. Sue has bought some of the loose, light cotton print trousers she likes from there, but we've decided it's not really worth the walk (from the adjacent car park) in future.

With the exception of Wavell Ave it seems like most of you are out of touch with the markets in Corralejo and Campanario and I suggest unless you know the facts you'd be better not commenting on something you don't know about.

Perhaps we know more than you when it comes to discerning the appeal and worth of an ash tray made out of an old 45rpm record. Flea markets sell tat, end of.

As there hasn't been a flea market in Corralejo since Christmas 2016, your comment reasures me you are not up to date with your factual information, and should really only give advice to a fellow forum member on the facts and not your opinion, it can get a little tiresome, end off.

Tiresome or not, tat is tat. Perhaps you like tat though, or it`s all you can afford, or markets exert a strange compelling magnetic force that draws you to them. My magnets are oriented the other way, thankfully, and repel flea markets and the desperate bring and buy stalls. Perhaps you make use of the wally trolley to transport you from one to another and look forward to the advent of the beer bike.

How can you not know or be out of touch about a market if you've been to one?. They never change. In 15 years of going to the island they are more or less the same now as they were then.

Why are some of you on here so bloody patronising and critical of what other people like and ask about? If you don't have a valid point why waste your oh so valuable time criticizing and pontificating. A lot of the charities here rely on funds raised at the flea markets and while they may not be everybody's cup of tea people give up their time to try and make a difference, the support of these people and the ones who go make a difference so leave them alone

Personally i've got no gripe with them either way, but surely people should be at liberty to dislike them and say so, the same as those who appear to like them. Are people that one dimensioned on here that they can't make a choice from the different viewpoints?. It's a forum for God's sake.

Agree with GSD, the Sunday Artisan market was really good, personally wasn't too impressed with the Tues/Fri markets but that's my opinion...

Why are some of you on here so bad tempered and ignorant? If a "lot" of charities rely on flea markets name a few, I can`t remember seeing any specifically, although some of the stall holders appear to be charity cases judging by what they are trying to sell. I can easily give the markets a wide berth when going to the Campanario supermarket but as I said up there somewhere, I quite liked to buy bread and cakes off one of the stalls. Hope my money helps the local economy , and as far as people giving up their time well, again, who are they?
