Mercadona Fish

Saw some nice looking fish in Mercadona called Brota.
Anybody know what it is, translation says SPROUTS

It is present in all Macaronesian archipelagos, from the Azores to Cape Verde, where it is highly appreciated by the consumer, especially in the Western Canaries (although the species is apparently absent in El Hierro). [In PELLAGOFIO nº 9 (2nd period, April-May 2013).]

L or sprout - Phycis phycis (Linnaeus, 1766) - is a target species of the Canarian artisanal fleet that is caught with lianas, pots, gill nets and bottom long lines. There is an incidence of recreational fishing on the resource. Although some information is available, the knowledge of its biology is insufficient and slightly obsolete. Although it can live from 3 m of depth, its greater current abundance, in moderate levels, occurs between 100 and 300 m. This resource is likely to be over exploited.

Biological parameters and proposed CTM
It is a species with separate sexes (gonocoric), that is, males and females have well differentiated reproductive organs. The Canary population has 1.7 females per male. Of slow growth, in the Macaronesian region reaches a maximum size of 65 cm and 3.635 kg. In our waters the size of first maturity is acquired with 37 cm and 3.9 years, being its most intense reproduction between October and January.

According to the regulatory regulations, a Minimum Capture Size (TMC) of sprout was not established in the Canary Island. From the analysis of the available data can be deduced useful parameters for the establishment of a TMC. We propose that the TMC be fixed at least 37 cm in total length.

Nutritional and nutritional properties

I have to say the fish in Mercadona is delicious, we have eaten nearly all the fish. Cooked on the frying pan with a bit of Irish salt butter just falls of the bone. Hi Woe

There was a photo with the article I posted, but I could not get it to load on Imgur, but it did not look like Pollack as we now it in the UK, while I am not a fish expert I do know what certain fish look like, will be in Mercadona tomorrow and if there are any there will let you know.

The fish I saw was filleted, so I don't know it looks like whole.
