Mr Boo Boo

Hi

Just returned from a fantastic week in Venice, now looking for our next trip away, looking to book a week in Corralejo early July, usually stay at the Barcello Beach or Barcello Fuerto in Caleta, however this time Mrs Cheeks fancies staying in Corralejo (having spent many a day trip there), looking to stay at the Barcello Corralejo Bay Hotel, has anyone stayed there, and if yes is it a good place to stay, we prefer 4* + seems to get good reviews on TA.

Thanks

Not stayed there, but my relatives have.

It is one of the best out there. When we have visited and dined there it really is fantastic. No children, no noise. the food is very high standard. Pleasant staff. Modern rooms. Nice ambiance.

The exclusion of kids makes the place absolutely perfect.

Did I mention, no kids!!

Enjoy.

As always matter of personal choice, not stayed their myself but had friends that did this year, said it was ok but didn,t rate the food and ate out several times.

Two separate sets of friend couples of ours who are in the Hospitality industry have stayed here and loved it - Gran Hotel Atlantis Bahía Real 5* GL, - https://www.atlantisbahiareal.com/en/ we have had a look around and were impressed.

When we were having a wonder around Corralejo in Feb we came across Avanti a boutique hotel so if you are out and about each day and don't want a large hotel I think this one is just the job  - https://avantihotelboutique.com/en/

Hope that helps with alternatives

Stayed at the hotel many times over the years, prior to it being the Barceló it used to be called the Atlantis Palace. Its adults only hotel now, Barceló have spruced it up a bit and added a Spa which is pretty naf to be honest, but overall its very nice, great location, just off the strip, food is normally very good, staff very friendly, pool bar is very relaxing to chill out, typical evening type hotel entertainment, British terrestrial television. I was upgraded the last time I stayed, the room was really classy, sunken bath, huge balcony to myself, walk in wardrobe, tele the size of a footie pitch, the full works.

If you can afford it, stay up the road at the Bahia Real, it was one of the top 100 hotels in the world not sure if it still is, I have stayed a few times, I must admit only for a couple of nights at a time but its real class, book a room with a sea view, you wont want to leave.

Ive stayed there and it is very nice.  What you would expect of the Barcelo.  However if I had the choice I would stay at the Avanti. Really different and great views decent restaurant (but not much else).

Hi

We stayed at the Barcelo last year for the first time. Having holidayed in Corrie since 1999 we'd always done apartments or villas as we had the kids with us. Last year for a change we decided on the Barcelo as we'd always loved the look of the hotel from our first visit all those years ago.

We were not disappointed, from the minute we walked through the doors till the minute we left we had such a lovely time. The staff from reception, bar, waiting right through to the room maids and cleaners were really friendly. The rooms were very comfortable and air conditioned which was utter bliss in the October heat. The restaurant was really good and served up a different style of food over a two week period, so unless you were there for more than 14 nights you had a change of food for each night of your stay. Pool are was always nipping clean as the guard was constantly sweeping and washing the showers down whilst making sure we all swam safe.

We rated it 5 stars on tripadvisor after our stay  but whilst it may be our cup of tea it may not be someone elses. If you book direct with The Barcelo and enjoy the hotel enough to go back. Once you start booking through them again you will start to earn a loyalty bonus resulting in the more you book through them = discounts on prices and automatic upgrades on rooms. If you're over 55 you automatically qualify for a 5% room discount price. You must book direct though the Barcelo Group to qualify for these discounts though.

Hope this help

We stayed at the Barcello last September and going back again on Saturday. We loved the place, the room we had included a Jacuzzi which was fun. The food could be a bit hit and miss but generally pretty good, with lots of choices. The lack of ankle biters is a major plus factor for us. They also run a free bus to and from the dunes each day. The only downside we saw was the queues each morning for the pool to open. People would rush in, put their towels down and then sod off for a couple of hours, leaving few sunbeds free.

It`s that long since I stayed in a big hotel I`d all but forgotten about the sunbed bagging brigade. Remember at one place the queue would form before the sunbeds were unchained. As the beds were placed round the pool the baggers trotted along behind , waiting until the most popular positions were set out before swooping triumphantly . One morning the staff went round and removed all the towels, leaving them in a heap by the bar. It was really funny to see the look on the faces of the baggers as they returned and tried to figure out what had happened.

Mrs Cheeks and I are not really big into lounging round by the pool, will have a daily swim, but prefer going out and about, but agree re the sunbed bagging lot  8) 8) 8)

If you notice that towels have been left for more than 2 hours inform the pool guard and he'll remove them
