We ordered some specific electronic parts from a company in Scotland.
Today we received an email from them stating that their normal courier company DHL refuses to ship to the Canary Islands!
DHL finds that shipping to the Canaries too often causes problems.
They will now be shipping by Royal Mail. Keeping our fingers crossed.

If it was small items (only bring hand luggage) would have brought them over for you Erik. Flying out of Glasgow on Saturday...maybe next time mate.  ;)

when I shipped over some memorabilia for the bar DHL were the last leg of the journey from Gran Can, the problem was because it was going to a locale import duty needed to be paid, eventually DHL agreed that we could pay them cod but it added a month to the drama. In reality there should have been no duty as it was addressed to an individual with his NIE number plastered all over the 6 packages, import duty was more than the freight costs

When I order items off Ebay, I always specify Royal Mail as opposed to courier, They're such a pain in the backside. When they say delivery to Spain, that means the Mainland. Items then go overland to Madrid usually, then when they feel like it, they send it to Las Palmas then on to Fuerte.
I've never ever had a problem with Royal Mail, delivered directly to my house.
If you have somebody to handle stuff in the UK, the Woodside is the best choice.

Yes, for smaller stuff Royal Mail are best, but always remember to include your NIE number as part of your address - I put it immediately after my name - to avoid unnecessary charges or delays.

For bulkier stuff, Woodside are brilliant. I was quoted huge delivery costs by the supplier of some sports stuff I wanted from the UK, but Woodside gave me a UK address for the supplier to send it to (free UK delivery), then they brought it over for me at a fair price. Quick, and secure!

Does Woodside also work to and from the Netherlands?

We have used Woodside too, first class service every time!
Try to never order goods with DHL delivery, as said a right pain in he butt. Time & complications almost beyond belief! Once in G.C. means copy paperwork, receipts, descriptions. Absolute nightmare. Done it a few times. Just not worth it. :'(
Royal Mail if you can use it, never a problem.  8)
