I'm taking cover for the day.

A normal full moon brings out more dingbats than is bareable, can you imagine what they'll be like with a "supermoon"?

woe10

The biggest since 1948. High tide will be REALLY HIGH.

Ole Man River

There is another one on 14th December although next weeks one is supposed to be the best.   :D

Looking forward to the day I tick the "One way only" box when booking flights to Fuerte. [:)]

Ole Man River

It's tonight!
Does anyone know if there is a very high tide as well? 8)

yorkiecouple

Yes very high spring tide for the next 3 high tides, 2.62m over the couple of days. :o

TamaraEnLaPlaya

Don't worry OMR - I don't think the high tide will wash under your door!
Remembered to go out and watch the moon rise, thought it was all going to be a washout due to cloud cover but the cloud cleared as the moon rose and it was all very lovely.

falkirkdan

Unbelievably here in Falkirk the cloud cleared a bit and could see the super moon.  Don't know what all hype was about.  Did not seem much bigger to me although was bright.
Watching the lunar eclipse last year up near the lighthouse at Cotillio now that was something worth staying up for.

It looked pretty much the same as usual over Fuerteventura.  (click bigger )

Shame on you Woe... stolen from the t'internet   ;D ;D
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and im not sure about the former .....

woe10

Err, I beg your pardon Hev but it's not. Here's the original photo taken at 11.11pm 14th Nov 2016.
Panasonic Lumix Camera on tripod, 12 mega pixels with 18 times zoom and aperture priority.
Cropped on my laptop. I have more taken at different times. (CLICK FOR BIGGER IMAGE)

A PUBLIC APOLOGY WILL BE ACCEPTED  !!!!!

Archer

It's a photo of the same moon! They will look the same!!!  :D

Now this is one I have seen on another Forum & Facebook -

SUPER MOON - A photo taken by Javier Rodriguez Sosa in Fuerteventura

woe10

Superimposed Moon with Photoshop. It's Peasy Peasy. You can tell by the beginning of the reflection. Made bigger, then goes smaller into the original reflection.

Plus: The moon's the wrong way round for Fuerteventura. Look at the shadows of the craters.
The "Tycho Crater" should be in the bottom right quarter, like my photo. Not top right.

Most enlightening woe10 and gone fishing, just show how people can be taken in.
