Is it just me? or am I unlucky?
me and my wife went to the lagoons at El cortillo on Saturday settled into one of the rock shelters only to find some dirty person had left a used tampon! now that is dirty.

The Lagoons are fantastic how can someone be so inconsiderate to other beach users and not forgetting lots of children around.

On Sunday we made a visit to the dunes at Corralejo again as it was very windy we made for a stone shelter only to find a used condom and a durex wrapper in the shelter! Dirty dirty dirty

This is not something that a tourist or anyone else for that matter should have to see,
any comments?

Yes its disgusting to the highest level.

They obviously brought them to the beach and should have taken them back with them.
As for the tampon, hope it wasn't taken off for any other reason than Swimming or it is more disgusting IMHO.

We have disgusting lazy dog walkers around our country walks too when in they pick up their dog poo in the little plastic bags and then proceed in throwing them onto the tress and bushes around here!

Lazy filthy  Barstewards

Probably why the council periodically demolish them. The smell alone is enough to put anyone off sitting in one. It doesn`t take much imagination to realise the use to which they will get put to on a beach without toilets.
Mentor to the boneheads.

You think that's bad, it's only July. You should go to El Cotillo after the Spanish have left at the end of august, then you will see what's disgusting.

ZZ, can you imagine what an un-attended  toilet on a beach would be like.  :o  The ones at the Beach Cafe in El Cotillo are bad enough.

TIGGA 1958,I AGRREE THEY WERE THERE IN JUNE ON OUR STAY, DIRTY BSTDS,

jill tie

In Cotillo last year walking near the lighthouse I noticed some one had been to the toilet and wrapped it in paper and left it there.
I then noticed there were dozens of these little parcel dotted all over the place.  There were at the time some long term campers and
varios motorhomes near.  So I assume it was them.    Its out of order as there are public toilets not that far away.  Some people just
do not give a shxt or in this case several did.   If one or two people do this whilst they are there for 2/3 weeks it soon becomes a mess.

erik_tonny

How do you know?
Did you actually unwrap them? :o

You don't always have to see cr#p to know it's there. ;)

About four years ago there was a guy lived in one of the coves at cottilo, bit of a hermit, lived in a tent. Someone said he was Dutch and worked as a chef in Corrie. I would walk my dog on the beach early in the morning to avoid the cops, twice I came across this guy with his pants around his ankles, hanging onto two rocks with his backside over the sea, crapping away, it put me off swimming at Cottilo. Then there was the story of the missing Euro funds that was supposed to upgrade the treatment works, apparently the stuff that poured into the sea at Cottilo was only semi treated????? hence the piles of strange substances washed on the beaches past the light house. The latter might have just been rumour, the piles of strange substances could have occurred through nature.

Even more reasons to support my view of avoiding El Cotillo!

Piles of strange substances?

Washed up on the beaches?

Occurred through nature?

Not much of a defence   ;D
