Has anyone built their own pool?
any tips for building their own small swimming pool?
Have seen in one of the free mags you can hire diggers.
Where did you source supplies from?
Can you buy kits that contain the pump, filter tank, pipe work, skimmer etc. On the island like you can in the uk?

You need a licence to build a pool.best contact Andy at Anka Pools who will give you all The info.perhaps someone else can come up with his number¿

Have you considered an above-ground pool? no need for licence and pretty straighforward to put up (2-man job). bought my 24 x 12 ft from http://agbudget.co.uk in uk. they delivered free to Woodside Cargos UK depot who then shipped it out for me and delivered to the door. complete with roller and quality pool cover and pump, the total costs came in under £4000 including shipping, customs tax and erecting (thanks to Melvin Jenkins). worth considering.

If you choose to have an in-ground pool, ensure that the underground pipework is both flexible and fully supported on brackets attached to the pool walls.  Otherwise, there's considerable opportunity for the surrounding ground to settle and rupture the pipes.  Don't ask me how I know this!
