Correos Parcel Delivery

Am I the only one here who is suffering appalling delivery service  when I order from Amazon or Ebay. I ordered a special battery I need on 30th Sept 2015, according to Ebay the estimated delivery should be 5th Oct 2015. Today is 7th Nov 2015 and I am still waiting. Are these guys just lazy or is there an inherent problem with the mail system here. On the flip side of this, when I send parcels back to the UK it generally takes a week, no more than 2 weeks tops.

I too am awaiting  a parcel from Amazon, which should have arrived  here on the 20th  October.  Had to send all details to customs, which I did and they sent me an email saying it would arrive within 48 - 96 hours, am still waiting.

2 months delivery time using TNT from the UK to Cotillo. Should have been a few weeks. Apparently mislaid in customs at PR, but it did get here.

I received 1 of my parcels from Correos today! Hooray!!!

and I received my courier delivery! Courier by the name of integra2 - a new one on me. Despatch note said it was sent from the vendor on 30th Oct in Madrid so the delay was of the vendor's making rather than the courier/customs.

Received 2 more parcels today via Correos. 1 more to go. Getting there.

If ordering from amazon.es then they do state to put your NIE/NIF in the second line of the address if you live in the Canarias. This does seem to expedite delivery as customs know who to bill. Also stops the delay of getting the VEGA notice from correos where you have to send invoice and details to customs in G.C.

Has helped in the past but this is the back of beyond and anything can happen....Have ordered 3 identical items before from amazon.es, all were shipped from same supplier in Germany. 1 arrived...no charges, couple of days later 2nd arrived with import duty of about 20â,¬, 3rd one went to G.C, then Madrid, then G.c. then back to Germany!!!

Yet have ordered from amazon.com, fast shipping option from USA with prepaid customs fees etc and it arrived after 4 days. Go figure

I ordered a pair of shoes from a UK Ebay Store last Monday, and received them this Monday.

I used Amazon once, never again.

sent some stuff via royal mail from the post office to the daughter it took 10 days ,never had any problems when using the post office

FWM, I always include my NIE in my addresses. Doesn't necessarily guarantee no problems at GC.

Finally received my parcel from Amazon today, one month after delivery date.
Looked like it had been opened  by customs, hope they liked the dog harness.

Had a new version of the parcel delivery service today - I'll wait to see if I'm impressed:

Phone call on mobile (where did they get my number?) from Correos saying they had a parcel to deliver for me and a customs charge was due. I followed the Spanish to that point but then got confused and asked if they spoke English. I was asked to wait a minute and then a very nice lady who spoke perfect English came on the phone. She asked what was in the parcel, told me who it was from (I needed that as 3 parcels due) and then told me it would be delivered on Wednesday and it would be about 30â,¬ - grrrrrrr, but not her fault. Probably 12â,¬ of it is the additional postage which is what really makes me fume.

2 hours later I received a text from DHL to say a parcel was on its way and to have 26.07â,¬ exactly, ready! Didn't say when it was coming.

What I don't know is if the call and the text were about the same parcel or different ones.

Has anyone else experienced all this comms before delivery? (I think the vendor must have printed my mobile number on the delivery label.) I always quote my NIE as part of my address.

I don't know who sent your parcel, but Ebay has decided to allow Sellers to print your address label, complete with phone number, whether you like it or not!
If you start getting loads of SPAM, then it's probably as a result of someone coming in contact with your parcel noting down your telephone number.

The parcel has arrived - it was from an Amazon marketplace vendor.

So, the goods cost £30 (inc VAT) plus a further £10 delivery.
It was despatched via DHL. 
The 26.07â,¬ charged by Customs was made up of 1.45â,¬ IGIC and 24.62â,¬ 'admin' - disgusting!

The icing on the cake? The jacket is too small

Well the Global shipping program that Woe mentioned is not for here. I saw a nice old fashioned ashtray on Ebay, it said starting bid £4.99, so I put the bid in. It said confirm your bid, so I did. But up came a message from Ebay, saying Canarias & Ceuta & Mellia are not part of the Global Program!
So to buy on Ebay here we can use a vendor who is using Royal Mail or anything other than the Global Shipping program.
That's a bummer for anyone living here.

I've just read an article in this week's Sunday Times, headline - "Taken to court for a £13 parcel fee".
It seem to have been judged that the handling fee is unenforceable.

"This case call in to question the legality of levying these charges, which seem quite arbitrary ant without justification" MP John Hemming

"The ruling could mean that thousands of customers who receive parcels from outside the european union may be able to avoid similar administration charges"

Could potentially change things in the long run?
