Looking to book a car for our next trip in Jan, thinking of using Cicar for a change, going to book it here in the UK and request drop off / collection at the hotel (Barcello Caleta), which according to their website is ok, has anybody used this service....

I did this once with Cicar. You have to ride back with them to the office to complete the paperwork and make the payment. Or at least that's what they made me do.
Now I always collect and return to the airport. PlusCar makes it so cheap, and convenient even if the car sits around unused it's still cheaper than a week ad hoc.
I always compare to Payless, sometimes they give a deal that matches PlusCar, other times they are off the scale. What happened to their rates next year? Nearly double those offered by PlusCar!

That seems to be the system. When our car broke down earlier in the year the lady from the Corralejo harbour office came and picked us up near La Oliva, then on the way back she stopped off at a hotel in Corralejo to pick up a customer before we were taken back to the office.

We Use the Cicar Caleta office to pick up and return. It is down  the road from El Patio not too far from the Barcello

When comparing prices try CABRERA MEDINA they are part of the Cicar group and are often cheaper.
