Whats the best TV system to get UK TV

I have tried them all over the years had a sky box then went to UKTV then changed to Europa but although it started cheap its now 50 euros a month for the basic package!

I have bought a new villa and will be looking for the cheapest way to get internet and UK TV in Nov this year

I see there are some very informative people on hear nowadys so just thought I would ask the question

Hi Sarah. There are a growing number of people on the Island buying Android boxes, there are dozens of makes available, some can be found on Amazon. I am currently watching a cricket match on Sky Sports 2, no interference, and it costs nothing to watch. It's not quite as straight forward as watching an IPTV system, but there is plenty of help at hand on forums. Your only cost would be buying the box and paying for an Internet system, maybe something for you to investigate.

We moved from Europe to zk tv a year ago and I have to say the service has been excellent.  We have all the TV channels you could want plus radio,  we also have catch up and films and TV series. If you want contact details pm me.

I've used many systems in my home, some good some dire.  I now use the Mag 254 IPTV box, you can get access to as many or as few channels as you want, personally I go for the free to air channels as there are plenty of them and it's really cheap too

Don't even think about paying subscriptions for Sky, dishes or other boxes.

With the internet ( I have 6 mb ) and an Android TV box running KODI / XBMC, which is FREE, you will receive almost every TV channel in the world, including all Sky, BT, Setanta, All the latest films, some before they go on general release.

Look on Ebay or Amazon for the best deals. Pre-loaded with everything. After buying the box, all you pay is your monthly internet fee.

Tip: Don't buy the cheapest, go for quad core minimum. Around 60 quid.   

You can also install KODI /XBMC on your laptop for FREE.

And last time I tried to watch ITV over in fuerte it would not let me as not in the uk so do I need to block my IP address with an andriod system

Hi Sarah, in answer to your questions, no you don't need a Smart TV. As for a VPN, in the UK you probably won't need one, and even over here it's not essential but it would give you more scope. There are several on the market ranging from £20 per year upwards. The important thing is to buy a box that is already loaded with Kodi / XBMC, most of the boxes sold on the likes of Amazon are. When you arrive over here to live I can advise you on the best 'Add-ons', there are over 2000, although a lot are not in English, and it depends what kind of programs you like to watch. Boxes ? Well the MX range are good, I paid a bit more and bought a Rippl box, it's more powerful. Hope I've helped you to decide.

I bought the Droidbox, after Woe recommended it, and it's great. No charge to use and I don't need a VPN unless I want to download from Iplayer.
I take mine back to UK as well, as it's so good.
Just watched F1 gp live, and the US Open. Also Jurassic World.
Everything you need with just an internet line and a piece of cake to use.

I'm beginning to think that IPTV companies think that they are a law unto themselves. Is it legal to screen newly released films, or US TV Series that haven't yet been released outside the US. Also do they pay the BBC license fee for every one of their customers. After all this, and the availability of Sky Sports and Movies on IPTV, seems to be Sky's reason for restricting viewing outside the UK.

TerryM...a point i did raise regarding the game of thrones etc.......naughty me I may have got the hooky first 4 episodes from a dubious torrent....unlike a certain iptv company who streamed them which must be legal because clients pay a subscription unlike you naughty android people.
We all know that if you do not have a subscription to a pay tv provider then it is illegal to view their subscription channels whether it be card share, torrents, streaming via android or even streaming direct from iptv head end servers.

The time and money SKY etc spend on improving encryption and trying to stop illegal card sharing is vast. Up to a point it is proving successful as well (hence not much chance of HD on a card share) I would bet that once they have clamped down on the card sharing then the illegal iptv will be next. Commercial enterprises in europe being the likely early targets as easier to find than individuals in russia, china and the middle east.

IPTV has its place but it is not the ONLY solution which is the point that surrepticiously seems to keep being made here

There will always be a way to get the TV you want....its just how much you want to work at it or pay others to do the work for you. If anything things are getting easier with android and XBMC/Kodi than they have ever been. Getting to the point where soon any idiot will be able to do it

Organised crime did very well out of re-broadcasting UK TV on the Spanish mainland.  It would not surprise me if they are now involved in IPTV.

I don't have a TV in Fuerte so have no axe to grind, but if I were to change, I think I would rather buy a clean Android box anonymously and download the software myself, rather than pay a subscription and give my banking details and email address to a third party.
It may be that this information is safe from the CIA and other law enforcement agencies at present, but who knows what may happen in the future? Switzerland may rule that this activity is legal, but that doesn't mean the US, UK and EU authorities agree.
Has anyone checked that the terms and conditions of the agreements between Virginmedia, the Swiss cable companies, and their clients permit commercial rebroadcasting?

Well, at least all this cloak and dagger stuff is out in the open now, deceit is never a good path to take. I can't understand why ZKTV don't advertise like Sky, Virgin Media, BT, etc., or maybe there is some hidden embarrassment they don't want to come to light.
The secretive Swiss Banking system eventually broke down through new legislation in 2009.

If it is all legal and above board, why are you promoting the fact that personal details can be kept secret, even to the extent of buying a box number?
And no answer on whether your contracts include the right to rebroadcast for commercial gain.  You certainly cannot do that in the UK - for instance, Sky contracts stipulate for ppersonal use only, even pubs have to have a special licence.

There is nothing illegal with an Android box running XBMC/KODI . No credit cards involved, no subscriptions involved. The only subscription I make is to a VPN ( I use Tunnel Bear ). The only time I use that, is for ITV Catchup to watch Corrie and Emmerdale on ITV Player, and NBC Sports, when the football season is on, as they show ALL the Saturday afternoon games. It's not compulsary to have a VPN for other stuff. You buy the box, it's yours forever.

You don't even need to have an Android Box. You can download KODI to your laptop and connect via HDMI to your TV. ( http://kodi.tv/download/ )

Below is a sample of EVERY series with EVERY episode, FREE. No VPN needed. I'm halfway through"Orange is the New Black" on Netflix, Fantastic. The other night I watched "Focus" with Will Smith, brilliant.

I haven't been to the UK for a few years so I've no idea how the system works there, although I have asked visitors to bring Android boxes over recently, with no problems, and paying with a Spanish Bank card. Your advice about ensuring that Kodi/XBMC is fully loaded, and paying for the box in cash, is good advice.
I do think your comments about Sky UK is scaremongering, at the moment nobody knows how things will pan out, unless of course you are a director Of Sky.

I would say that the make didn't matter. They mostly all have the same specs.

I got mine direct from droidbox.co.uk  fully loaded, model T8. Free next-day delivery. ( a friend brought it over ) They also have a forum where members discuss any problems and latest updates etc. Most addons update automatically, so you're always getting the latest films etc (but you can turn this off ). They have an update tab called Droidbox Wizard where you can update all the latest developements as they come out.
