Does anyone use the Rural Internet provider JRM from El Matorral?

If so can you advise on their customer service etc., value for money.

I contacted JRM twice about their adverts for rural coverage, and on both occassions got no response.
So, on my experience, their Customer Service is rubbish!

I've used them for the last 2 years without any problem. Very efficient and polite. For Caleta area, the antenna is on top of Chipmunk Mt.

Why don't you go to the office in Matorral, just opposite the airport.

JRM visited, no signal at our property!!!! neither does Iberbanda cover us so back to the drawing board.

PS No landline either at our property.

Does anyone have the SSID for the JRM Chipmunk transmitter so I can check I have a reasonable signal before going down to their office, ? I will be trying to connect from Nuevo - bit of a distance, but I have a clear line of sight. Worth the extra hassle for 6Mb I think.

JRM works great with iptv boxs with 4 meg even better with 6 meg for HD at peek times

Thanks woe, I've just been back down to them as they hadn't been out to my place yet. Much of the conversation was 'lost in translation' but the gist of it seemed to be that having looked at my address they decided I had no signal. I know you probably have a router installed and therefore won't be connecting directly to the JRM transmitter, but, I was wondering if you had the Transmitter identity (ssid) so I could put this to rest one way or another? For instance when I look for available networks I get 'V-Sat', 'Canarynet' etc ....if I knew what the JRM transmitter was showing as, I could check for myself.

Not sure how other folks feel but a land line connection was HIGH on my agenda when buying a house, along with power, water, sewerage, etc.

I would agree with Spike regarding a landline, but,I'm told, in some places the infrastructure necessary to provide landlines to properties is inadequate or missing altogether so people are finding that's not an option either. Hopefully, that's something which will eventually be rectified by the telecoms industry.
