The End of Happy Hour ??

Police were out last night in Caleta photographing boards at Bars advertising Happy Hours and 2 for 1.

The Police have said there will be no more Happy Hours, 2 for 1,  or Promotions in Caleta. This has been the law in Spain for over 3 years, but not fully enforced here until now.

Will they turn their attention next, to All Inclusive Hotels, that allow their clients to get Rat-Faced before lunchtime. I smell a conspiracy  ::)

No more happy hour AND no more winter fuel allowance ?
This is going to cause the fall of the british empire on Fuerteventura.

Happy hour is not 5 star.

Nor is dog sh"t on the pavements. I've yet to see a copper clearing that up.

They took photographs of the advertising at the Millenium Bar which is Spanish, and made them take away their A-Board ( which was also illegal ). The law is the law, if El Capitan is exempt, then other Bars should band together to put a denuncia on it.

2 for 1 is seen to encourage binge drinking. half price drinks sounds more controlled and sensible... or is that illegal too?.

If that is the law, the police have the right to act. It`s a shame the English police do not act on the law about drinking in England. The publicans keep blaming the supermarkets selling “ the cheap booze “ that causes the drunken weekends in many towns, so why is there very little trouble before  the closing time of the pubs? Did you know that it is against the law to serve someone  who is drunk or appears to be drunk, or ever if they are with some one in the same condition and they are sober. Right, I`m off my high horse now but when I was in Oba in Turkey, a few years ago, one of our favourite eating places was closed for two nights. When they reopened we went in and asked why,  they explanation was simple, the guy who stood outside trying to get customers in, stood on the pavement and broke the law. The punishment, being closed down for TWO DAYS.

It applies to the advertising of any drinks promotions.

Archer

I disagree with drunken, loutish behaviour, particularly in holiday resorts, where the perpetrator reeks havoc for one or two weeks then b*ggers off, leaving the locals with the consequence.
But I did think that price control was illegal, under EU law. A publican is entitled to sell drink or food at whatever price he/she desires.
But perhaps not advertise the fact(?)!

That's exactly what is happening now.

I'm not particularly good at maths, but doesn't two half price drinks add up to buying two for one price?

PHo

But with half price you are not forced to buy two emmi.
