A STRANGE PLANT?

Ole Man River

As some of you know, I try to look after the Community Garden between Manzana 11 & Pueblo Canario in Tamaragua. It's about an acre which should have been planted up by the developers before they pulled out! Being so large about three quarters of it is still waste ground. So I am always pleased to see someone take the time & effort to put in another plant.
What greeted me yesterday was the addition of a Cannabis Indica! I have no knowledge  as to it's cultivation. Who ever planted it will therefore have to look after it themselves. As they are probably hoping for the end product, Good Luck! & may you "fly as high as a kite"; & as Manuel said "I know nutting Mr Fawlty???"  8) 8) 8)

Google map reference please !

.....for botany studies of course.

Growing cannabis for your own use is legal in Spain.  There is at least one cannabis growing cooperative in Gran Tarajal

So why you would need to grow a single plant on waste ground is a mystery. How do you recognize a cannabis plant? Do they have a distinctive appearance?

Spiky leaves and a distinctive smell, oddly enough of cannabis.....

No idea what cannabis smells like - I've led a sheltered life!

smells like aloe vera

Aloe Vera flavoured cannabis, could be a niche market.....

There's a cannabis seed / plant shop in Puerto Del Rosario, which also sells all the paraphanalia for growing it. I think you can legally grow up to 3 plants, so it's no big deal to find one.

We have frequent guest-stays from my kids' grandparents who are Daily Mail readers otherwise I would have my allotted three.

There's one in the main Corralejo town and a new one 'Big Grow' opened up near to Corralejo Mercadona. There is also a Cannabis Club in the upstairs section of the locale - you don't need to be a member if you live downwind of the club, just open your windows and breathe in!

The plants are actually quite decorative. I grew quite a few in my garden in the UK, by mistake I hasten to add, after my son cleaned out his fishing tackle box and emptied the detritus over a flower bed. Unbeknown to me he had been using hemp seed as ground bait.

I'm confused.

11 posts on this thread and no sign of the "It turns you into a junkie" brigade.

I kinda miss them.
