Freeview going Online

A press release issued earlier this week details plans for Freeview to become available online, via new set-top boxes connected to your router, and built into new UK spec TV's.

In theory when this is released it means expat TV should become a breeze, a DNS or VPN service such as Unblock-Us to give you a UK IP address, and then you get good quality streams of live TV from what will presumably be good quality and reliable servers.

Of course they could block DNS/VPN connections, like TVCatchup do, but at least the streams will be out there and accessible - one way or another, this could be the future of watching live UK TV as an expat.
