Advice please

Hello everyone. Thanks for letting me register on your forum.

Me and my partner will be staying in Caleta for a week at the end of November. I am a naturist, but she's never tried it before. So my question is - what would be the best beach to take her to? Ideally I'd like somewhere where there'll be lots of naturists around, and people of different ages. I really don't want somewhere where people go looking for sex. There's no way we can hire a car, but we are adventurous and don't mind long bus journeys.

To the best of my knowledge there are no beaches where people go looking for sexual liaisons. It had been known for couples to indulge within the corrales or stone circles but they are normally very discreet.
My advice would be to go to the most convenient beach and walk along it until you find the bit with lots of naked people on it. The exact location of these varies with the season  depending on the predominant nationality of the visitors.
If you have the services of a courier they will be able to direct you appropriately.

Never met it myself all the times I've been there - but maybe I'm not attractive enough.

not much around caletta,, get bus into rosario ,then number 6 to rui hotels , just before corralejio ,, walk down by hotels onto beach ,should find plenty of beach n naturist there ,, im over on nov 29th ,, let me know how u get on

It might happen in the dunes further back from the shoreline, but not on the flat section of the beach near the shoreline.  Walk down the road from the bus stop to the beach (which runs alongside the hotel) and then turn right and walk for about 10 minutes or so.  Unless it's cloudy and extremely windy you can expect to see plenty of naturists.  The users of the last two sets of sunbeds are usually predominantly nude.

Anywhere from Costa Calma to Morro Jable would be excellent, all the beaches are clothes optional with a mix of ages.
Check out online Sotavento, Risco del Paso and Morro Jable to the left and right of the lighthouse, to name a few. Bilit on panoramio has posted a lot of photos of these areas, worth a look.

Agreed, the beaches are good, but most of the ones you've mentioned aren't served by bus, you'd need a very long walk from the main road.  Perhaps the shortest walk from main road to beach might be at Jandia.

I suspect it happens in dunes the world over. Has absolutely nothing to do with whether the beach is naturist or not. After all, what impediment is a bikini? There's loads and loads of flat beach around there. I actually prefer to go to the north of the hotels as it's a nice mix there.

Wow - thanks so much for all the replies - all very useful. I've been on the island's bus company and found their timetables. No mention of 'express' buses. Perhaps they are advertised in the hotels?

Looking at the weather for our trip there might be a lot of rain. Do any of the naturist hotels allow days visitors to use the spa facilities?

Sorry, but i have to ask: why do you stay in Caleta if you wanna try nudism and do not have a car? Corralejo, Costa Calma or even Cotillo are much better options...

He is simply making the same elementary mistakes that we all made when we first ventured into nudism.
I come across it on other forums where newbies have booked a holiday in the sun on naturist unfriendly islands like Malta and Cyprus.
It rakes me back to my early days camping in the wrong places in France.

Yes, in days gone by, decent local knowledge was hard to come by. But today, with the internet, it's easy to check up on different resorts.  Caleta is probably the worst one to choose for anyone who wants to go nude!

Because it was ridiculously cheap - £140 each for flights and accommodation for a week.

That's just one of the reasons, here in England, that naturists tend to be older. Younger people have very little money. Anyway - I'm looking forward to it. I'm sure we'll be able to get some naturism in during our stay.

If the Caleta to Puerto del Rosario bus serves the community at Playa Blanca, that would make the beach there accessible.
It's perfectly pleasant there, and when we went, we were far from being the only naked ones there.
From what we've found, most beaches are quite a trek from any bus stop. If you're able to drive, a fair part of a car hire price can be set against resort transfer costs. Also, sometimes you may pal up with someone goiing to a further away beach for a day and buy them a bit of lunch?

Agreed Jandia/Morro Jable would have the easiest access to beaches and also some nice bars and restaurants. I'm sure your hotel could help with planning the bus trip.
Perhaps in the future when budget allows you could check out the south for a stay? You won't be disappointed.

From what we've found, most beaches are quite a trek from any bus stop.

For Corralejo you'd have to change from the 3 to the 6 in Puerto, but it's a nice journey along the coast and the bus stops very close to the RIU hotels - not far to the naturist-friendly areas on either side (I wouldn't advise stripping right by them as that might cause a few textile heart attacks). The next stop (ring the bell when you see buildings) is only just a bit away from the the end of the beach in Corralejo itself. It's very mixed there but I can assure you nobody turns a hair at naturism and the beach gets very nice towards where there are always kite-surfers. There's a (non-naturist) beach bar - minimally cover your bot and you're fine there.

BTW the last (first?) hotel in town, Gran Hotel Natura, is fully naturist. They have an indoor gym, sauna and jacuzzi area plus two outdoor pools. Maybe they'll let you use the facilities - I really don't know.

I don't know if it's a rule but, yes, everyone there has been clothed in the evening in the restaurant when I've been there. Not at lunchtime though - a towel to sit on suffices. And at breakfast they just ask for a towel/wrap or something else minimal - understandable as you're going to the food rather than it coming to you and there may well be constraints on the hotel by the authorities.

On occasions when it was very hot in the south of France, some people would come to the campsite communal meal carrying something for when it got chilly later, but not many. The women, in particular, preferred to dress even though there was absolutely no rule about it. It was the same in the restaurants at Cap d'Agde - lots of people sitting on towels for lunch but everyone clothed (maybe not entirely 'correctly' ) in the evening. Is it different at other places?

Stayed at Infiniti earlier this year. Some of our fellow guests went to the reception at Gran Hotel Natura asking if they could have a look round. They were given permission to stay for the day with use of all facilities.

Yes, we were at Club O over Xmas and it was probably 50/50 naked (on a towel/wrap) or clothing of some sort at dinner - but not to Cap D'Agde standards of 'dress'! This later went to 90/10 as the rum punches took effect..
