Corralejo gone upmarket?

Delighted to see Some big brand name shops in Corralejo along with nice cafes and resturants,
Anybody else notice this?
just a pity some dog owners don`t clean up after their dogs around the Bristol area for example.

Brennt - re doggie bit - it isn't just your area it - it's the same all over Corralejo.  And with some dog owners walking them off lead.  We think Italians are prob the worst for not cleaning up after their pets, followed by the spanish......... But wait to be corrected.

I've been to Mexico, Cuba and Dom Rep recently, and they're taking over there too.  They must be getting all their "Tax Free - EU Paid For" money out of Italy before it finally crumbles.

According to a recent survey, there are more Italians than any other nationality (except Spanish), living in La Oliva district.

We live in hope the council get it sorted, if this happening on the main strip they would get involved but on the upside corralejo looking busy this summer.

They're starting to take action in Tamaragua, just outside the town. Quite a few owners have been fined for either not clearing up after their dogs or allowing them off the lead, or both. I imagine it's the start of a generally less tolerant attitude to dogs. I certainly hope so.

I remember when the UK was covered in dog-doings. As a kid I was forever having to wipe the stuff off my shoes. Now I hear that things have changed completely over there. It'll happen here, too. It's just that things take longer here. Isn't that relaxed attitude just what we all love about the place?

I've noticed a lot more eye-ties on the beaches too - parading up and down in their ridiculous and inappropriate designer outfits taking pictures of each other with their Ted Baker shoulder bags etc. They love nothing more than sitting on the pavement cafes drinking coffee or eating ice cream trying to look cool. Or sitting in one of the rip-off cocktail bars paying 7 euros for a glass full of ice. Look at me Look at me !! -Pathetic.

I'm with you on that one Sponge Bob, we were down on the Flag Beach the other day, and this Italian couple were next to us on the beach, she was gorgeous, in her skimpy designer bikini, flaunting slim body in front of us, with her bronze god like husband, wearing a thong on an a...se that you crack nuts with.

I turned around and said to Wor Lass, have you got room for another tattoo on one of your arms, she said NAR, I could fit one on top of my leg, I said right, get a tattoo saying "I hate smarmy Ities". I  put my can of lager, down, stood up, and waddled the old five bellies down to the shore, pulled down my union jack shorts and mooned right in their faces, I thought, take that, I'm English, and I'm proud of it, we went up to the Prince of Wales to watch the match and have our Sunday Roast, cant beat the Brits abroad. Who do the Ities think they are.

It's my cat he needs to keep on the right side of! I don't mind well-trained dogs with owners who respect the community; my cat would like to exterminate every dog on the planet. But then the feeling seems mutual.

I hate dog owners that don't pick their dogs poo up, it gives us dog owners a bad rep. I was laughing to myself at you using the word intolerant in your post, then reading the rest of the posts by other members relating to Italians, its as if us Brits should have a say in who comes and who go's in Fuerteventura, mental really.

Then again ---

A couple of months ago I picked up two young Italian lads  thumbing a lift to El Cotillo , they could speak pretty good English and said they were going to see if they could find digs there, I asked them why El Cotillo, they said (Gospel) Corralejo was full of Italians, they left Italy to get away from them, it sounds bull, but its absolutely true, they were serious.

Never seen corralejo as packed as it has been the last few weeks. Hard to get a seat in any popular restaurant. Dunes beaches also crowded and as been said mainly with italians. Prepare for prices to rise accordingly.

Hope the service in the popular restaurants has improved since July. It seemed that they hadn't staffed up for the increase in trade.

Well if it's the Italians taking up spaces in restaurants and bars then the owners will have to put their prices up because I've seen groups of them sit there all night in a bar with just one drink... can't run a business like that very successfully.
We used to have one 'lady' come into our bar with her friends, order a bottle of water...then ask for ice all night 'to keep it cool' (She was Scottish though not Italian  )
