Monarch summer flights

Monarch have just put their summer 2015 flights on the schedule.

For May and June they are Saturday only!!!  June 6th - Flight only £186, Essentials £241, Extras £300

No Wednesday flights???

Edit - I was looking for flights from B'ham. Just spoken to Monarch and it appears there are no Wednesday flights from the UK.

Probably because the flights in June this year were nowhere near full

They lied to me!! 

They ARE flying on Wednesdays BHX/FUE.

I bring this up now because I am looking for a November 2015 flight and Monarch have no availability on the net.

I called and asked if they were stopping flights to FUE (as part of their review of operations) and was given a very unconvincing reply to the effect that they had "most" of their flights posted but they all be posted by the end of the month.

Do I wait until they make up their minds or book on BA ex LGW where they have 5 seats left at £90 each way with hold baggage?

Back in summer last year it was touch and go whether Monarch would remain in business,or how many aircraft would remain in the fleet and as such they pruned their route network and flights..Now some of the dust has settled, they have reviewed their resources and route network, hence the additional flight on a Wednesday. Not something they could have planned for last year tbh..

   As for flights available, I`d go for the BA flight...you get food and drink and better luggage allowances and if anything goes wrong, all the resources of BA to help

The price is right but to get to LGW for an 1140 flight means a hotel stay the night before.

On a good day I can get to LGW in 2 hours, but how many good days are there on the A14, M11, M25 and M23??  Whereas getting to BHX foran 0830 Monarch flight is 90mins but it's a easy run with little congestion

Ah, I see. Not a problem I have as such, mcr, speke, lb all within 90 mins from the frozen wastes of Cumbria.

I've been in contact with Monarch on SitOnMyFaceBook over this

"I am looking for a flight from BHX to Fuerteventura for November 2015. When I check from my mobile, it comes up as "No availablity".

Is this one of the routes being dropped??

Should I book with BA, even though it is from LGW?

BA LGW/FUE is currently cheaper than the fare last November with you"

Their reply

"Hi David, I'm afraid I am unable to confirm at this time if we are still operating this route because our Winter 2015/16 schedule is still under review. We expect this will be complete in the next few weeks and we will be able to publish our full schedule. I will pass on your comments to our flight planning team"

I've taken that as meaning that they are dropping the route and have booked with BA.
