Because Brendan's team conceded fewer goals they pass through to the next round !

If a cup match is drawn, then the following tie-breaks will be applied until a winner is found:

Most goals scored in the Gameweek
Fewest goals conceded in the Gameweek
Virtual coin toss

I had 3 players playing on Sunday and expected at least 6 points from them.

one player got a red card: -1 points
another oversaw a 5.0 drubbing: 0 points
the other at least managed to stay upright: 2 points.

Total from the three: 1 point.

Yup you do but make sure you use one of them this week.

When can I play a wildcard?
You can play 2 wildcards a season.One wildcard can be played at any time. The January Wildcard can only be used after Gameweek 20 starts (1 Jan 11:30) until Gameweek 23 ends (7 Feb 11:30).

Wildcards are played on the transfers page but aren't active until you have confirmed the transfers.

Don't forget Dave that with the wildcard, you can continue making changes right up to the deadline.

So if you had for example a Liverpool player in your new squad and he gets injured tonight then you can still transfer him without incurring any penalties.
