The Ayuntamiento have told me that 2014 taxes will be taken from my bank in the first two weeks in June this year, not July as before.

Don't know if this has been mentioned on the forum, or even made public by the council.

Hi oystercatcher,
we've just checked our Solbank account & they took our direct debit payment 3 days ago so what you've been told seems to be correct.

Can I ask those who are on Direct Debit with La Oliva whether or not they received bills for their IBIU and Basura either by email or through the post, or whether because they were on DD the Ayuntamiento didn't bother sending out any such bills and just took the money from their bank accounts ?

I am not on DD and received my IBIU and Basura bills via email back at the beginning of May and paid them myself very soon after. Next year I may well sign up for DD but do like receiving an official bill with the amount calculated explicitly from the catastral value so wonder if I would be forfeiting this transparency by moving over to DD ?

Many thanks for any replies.

Ernie

PHo

We pay by DD and each year when it is paid the bank (Bilbao Vizcaya) send us a transaction statement which has the valor catastral and calculation on it. Same for Endesa and CAAF, which give the consumption and unit price.

Ernie

Thanks PHo.

With Endesa I also get a bill via email but in this case I am on DD so have the best of both worlds. As for CAAF, I am on DD but like you have to rely on the readings and calculation supplied by my bank to explain the payment amount. I intend to see if I can arrange to get regular CAAF bills via email prior to payment but haven't approached them so far.

Any more replies to my questions gratefully received. Just trying to build up a picture of what the norm is with La Oliva (and indeed Endesa and CAAF).

We're letting out a house and keeping the services in our name so need to get the money for them from the tenant. Fine for Endesa but I went to the CAAF office in Corralejo and was told it was impossible for them to supply a bill - on-line, by email or by post. All I can present to my tenant is the bit of paper from the bank.

I'd actually really like to challenge that in court! Every supplier is supposed to provide a full tax invoice when requested. I have to as an autonomo! But CAAF are big and powerful so I'll just gnash my teeth, I suppose.

Do let me know if you have any joy :o.

Ernie

Hi Shelia,

Thanks for that info as I was planning on making a visit to the CAAF office in Corralejo but may well not bother now. I have never heard of anybody receiving a CAAF bill other than the statement produced by the bank once the DD has been taken but equally until now I have never heard of anybody actually trying to get one sent. But from your experience I'm guessing I would be wasting my time. Does anybody know different ?

In summary it looks like my arrangements at CAAF and Endesa cannot be improved upon and with La Oliva a Direct Debit mandate would result in a loss of an official IBIU and Basura bill but all this information (catastral value, calculation percentages etc) would still be available on the Direct Debit statement itself, so no problem.

As an aside, can I expect any official central government IRNR request for the last 2013 tax year or is this totally left to the individual to perform the calculation and pay the sum owed by the end of 2014 without any correspondence from the Spanish tax authorities ? From previous posts I have gathered that there is no such correspondence but just thought I'd check again. I appreciate that these things can be done for you by a lawyer but I prefer to figure things out myself so may well go down the on-line route linked to on this site and elsewhere. I will have no rental or other income to declare so it ought to be simple !?

Thanks again,

Ernie

La Oliva have an online site and if you register you can see online all the details of bills and details like catastral value, what bills you have paid, when bills are due etc

https://carpeta.laoliva.es/eParticipa/Products/Carpeta/Public/Login.aspx?returnurl=/eParticipa/Start.aspx?AppScope=CIUDADANO

I could not access this site for the following reason.

"An error occurred during a connection to carpeta.laoliva.es. Invalid OCSP signing certificate in OCSP response. (Error code: sec_error_ocsp_invalid_signing_cert)

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.

Try this

I use chrome and google translates the webpages to make it easy.

http://www.laoliva.es/

Then click on Town hall online.

Then to register click on 2

Then click on Folder Access form (middle grey box)

You need to register which requires you to send an email with details and then they send you an email back. Then you have to be there to take the email into either Corralejo or La Oliva to get a password. (well that used to be the process).

cockney

Thanks for your help beachlife but it isn't working for me. When I click on townhall I get the same error message. I will try emailing them direct with a question and see if I can get a reply.

beachlife

Don`t click on the link ,try putting the address straight into your address bar and see if that works.

Can I enquire what the IBIU and Basura bills are for? :)

Deso

IBI is the equivalent of Council Tax and Basura is for the Dustbin emptying.  :D

Looking forward to the day I tick the "One way only" box when booking flights to Fuerte. [:)]

margerita

Hi All,

Could I ask if residents in Corralejo had their accounts debited for basura this year.
I normally have my payment made to the local council in July via direct debit.
It hasn't happened this year. I don't live there, but I find it a constant battle for the system to run smoothly,3 years ago I was paying somebody ( unknown to me)their basura charges. It took time to get that one sorted.
Thank you for any advice.

margerita

Hi Cockney,

Did you have your basura charges debited from your account yet?
I didn't , I am with solbank.

margerita

Giving this another try. Anybody had their accounts debited in Corralejo for basura
charges which were due in july 2014. Maybe we have paid enough in the past :-\

beachlife

I had mine taken on 4th July  by DD  (Tamaragua).

margerita

Thank you Beachlife for reply.

Ye one wonders what happens to direct debits, after what I say way a nightmare
situation setting it up in the first instance, see my previous post. Don't ever under estimate the Irish, or British banking system. Can I say if the property bubble picks up, I will gladly sell our place,  but I am happy to say Fuerte v is one of the best places to be in the world. :)

I have posted before about the La Oliva website where you can see all the payments that they have taken out. Have you managed to register with them to get online?

You do need to be there in person, to take an email they send you after you have completed an online request ,they only give out your password on receipt in person at the office in La Oliva or Corralejo.
