where to find the best internet

howdy yall,

I was being curious on where to find the fastest broadband connection on the isle...was thinking maybe puerto d. R. or corallejo should provide at least 10-20mbit, what do you think?
the reason I ask is because I will move to fuerte soon for a year and its crucial to have a somewhat fast internet speed due to my work. basically my decision on where to get an appartment is based on that question.

Without dashing hopes I thibk you might find it hard to reliably get anywhere near those speeds, just saying.

fastest I have found here was a VDSL connection of 20Meg d/l and about 1.5 u/l. (actually tested out at about 19Meg D/L)
VDSL is available in a few places but is limited by distance to exchange. Basically VDSL works a little different to ADSL in so much as ADSL slows down as you get further from exchange wheras VDSL either works or doesn´t. I had a line put in and I was just too far from the exchange and although had speedtest od 20 Meg, what actually happened on continual monitoring was that the actual link ´broke´about every 30 seconds or so for a second or 2 so had to drop back to a steady 10 Meg ADSL.

The above mentioned 20 Meg was acheived on Tamaragua so is possible but have to ask the engineer nicely!!

Fibre is coming but a telefonica engineer has told me that it will probably be capped at about 30 Meg D/l (not sure what U/L will be)

I see, but guess 10megs will do it anyway till fibre comes.
are there any particular regions of the island you would recommend? as far as availability/stability goes, also lets say in terms of support in case somesomething isnt working and "quickly" ( I know, lol) call a technician.

oh and btw, you got any experience with internet via satelite? only thing I hear from people its that it can be very unstable and frustrating with alot of speed variations.
