Paper Work Required for Phone Line/ADSL Installation

We have a line in our apartment but it is not active at the moment.

What paper work do we require for Movistar to enable the line and set up ADSL for internet?

Also, any idea's on time scale for it to be set up and do all copies have to be stapled together?

I have just done this via the movistar office in Corralejo. I needed evidence of bank account and passport/NIE certificate and full address.
Also need a Spanish mobile to contact about installation.
Unfortunately somewhere long the process 2 digits of the mobile no got reversed and so I was never contacted. When I was next over I went back into the office and corrected it. After that it was about 4 days before I was called by the installation engineer to arrange a time. Unfortunately the engineer could not seek English and I can't speak spanish(yet!) so he got his pal(dave I think his name was) to phone me and arrange time. It all went quite smoothly after that and I get 8-9 Mb download in Marina Village.

Forgot to add that I bought an LG TV from Electron which is a SMART TV and has an Internet browser that allows me access to FILMON and UK TV should I want it.

We have a place in Caleta, only about 200m from the exchange, but don't live there yet so may use CanaryNet and stick a couple of dishes up for the moment.

Spooky that, I have an LG Smart TV on my shopping list for our next visit.

Nice TV at a good price for 42 inch. I bought this because it also had a built in satellite receiver, although don't think I will use it as I can get filmon on the smart tv. Worth also getting the magic remote (maybe in the uk) if you want to use the smart tv functions.

Which model did you get?  I was looking at the 570 but they have the 670 for a bit more which is what we have at home, albeit the English equivalent, which has the magic remote.

I am in the UK at the moment but I think it was the LN570S at €499. It didn't come with the magic remote, only a normal remote, or if it did i didnt see it and must have thrown it out with the box!

They had the 570 on offer last month at €449 but it is back up to €499 now and the 670, which is also 3D is €539.

I echo what decho said about getting connected. We did ours through the Movistar shop in Atlantico. Be aware that some staff in there very speak good English whereas others don't, so you may need to visit more than once.
The engineer was fine and I'm sure we were up and running within a couple of days - and that was at Christmas too! Never known where the Caleta exchange is located, although we were given some waffle about being quite some distance away (and we're not that far from your new pad). Our problem is with complex 'phone lines which have already deteriorated and the complex is only 8 years old, many pairs of lines are unusable.

Now that you mention it I think it was €449 I paid. I'm very happy with the TV.. Wasn't sure whether the Internet browser would be good enough to let me get connected to FILMON, but although its a fiddle because of onscreen keyboard, I managed to setup tab bookmarks for 5 main channels in full screen mode.
Sometimes I can't get stations in full screen for some reason(not sure why) but when I left to come back to UK all was working well. Not a big deal really anyway as there are much better things to do on this lovely island!

The exchange is at the top of the car park at the White Centre, come out of the Windmill, turn left and it is the white single storey building about 50 metres up.

You can buy the 'Magic' remote separately but depending on which one it needs they can be quite expensive.

All went according to plan, ordered Fusion Mini on Tuesday, Movistar PAYG sim changed to contract there and then, engineer turned up on Friday, connected new cable from incoming cable in apartment to master socket (builders had just left a draw wire in) and set everything up. (around an hour in total)

Speedtest indicates 8.5 to 9mb download so all hunky dory.

Just goes to show that the system can work. We are only a couple of hundred metres from the exchange.
