Naked in Caleta

We usually stay on the Jandia Peninsula, which we have found in recent years to be mostly clothes optional due to the german influence there. This recently has included the main beach at Morro Jable.
This year for my first week, before we go down to Jandia we have had an amazing deal to stay at The Sheraton for a week in early January. I know Caleta is primarily a "British" resort and therefore does anyone know if it is acceptable to be naked on the beach anywhere around that area of Caleta?

Never tried it myself, but I think the likely response is going to be a gruff "not in front of my kids"!

As if the kids would be in the least bothered or harmed unless their parents told them to be so.

Thanks for this Scottish Nudist.
They quote "I shall be bringing naturism to Caleta first week in November. I'll be on the beach in front of Smiles or further along at the pods towards Atlantico. Say hello if you are passing."

:)We will be in Janida one week from 25 Nov 2013.
I man is naturist since childhood my wife since we got married 40 years ago.
We long to heat because here we sit and freeze in a cold chilly Sweden.
longing for sensual beautiful moments on the beach

Find your self a big pod on the beach :)

Hi Focusboy

We just come back from the Elba Carlotta next door, if you want to be naked either walk down to the pods (stone circles) or drive up coast to Corralejo, when we were at Caleta no one was naked on the main 3 beaches. but Corralejo half the people are naked.

capricornukuk

You could also try el cottilo lots of naturists there nice beach aswell tranquil feeling to it

old n easy

Was in Caleta (briefly) Sept 2011, very family orientated, beach all textiles. Use the pods and don't stray too far seemed to be the thing.

Just back from two weeks in Caleta. The main beaches in town and in front of Atlinco are family beaches.

If you search out a pod either in the area in front of Smiles or further along towards the rocky area the nudes are plenty. Some days couldn't get a pod.

Slowly but surely bringing naturism to Caleta.

OOOh and Caleta is a great resort town.

I tried the pods down by the Sheraton (facing the wasteland really) but didn't feel at all liberated. There's no way into the sea and the odd gay came past just for a look. Women on the main prom did lots of pointing. not ideal. South of Corrie is much better with lots of libs there.

wrong wrong on every level, if you want to go naked go somewhere its acceptable not in a family resort. I personally don't want to see your bits and pieces.  Please!  Caleta is a family resort not naturism.

Families can enjoy the sunshine naked too!  Kids love it.

Still wrong, children should not run around naked due to the safeguarding issues.  there are areas where naturism is accepted. Not in Caleta, I will not infringe on you if you do not infringe on me!

Seems I was right in reply #1...

However, you are so wrong, on so many levels.  You've obviously never been to a normal Spanish naturist beach and seen the innocent enjoyment entire families, often 3 generations of them, gain from the experience.

Sorry I have to apologize, I answered this thread in unread posts in the forum.  I stand by what I said but do not understand the naturism rules and regs.  Please accept my apologizes  for bombing your thread didn't realize it was the naturism section.

I find it acceptable to question conventional views, but one better support it with evidence and be willing to question conventional wisdom.

I didn't sense any "bombing" of the thread.  And your posts remind us that the education of others about naturism is something the naturist community could benefit from. Like other types of "other" groups, naturists will be received by the majority once the there is sufficient information about us and sufficient realization we are just like the majority, we just prefer to be more natural.

Further to CoCal's response, I find your response here helpful as it reminds us of the level of irrational prejudice which does exist relative to naturism.

Naturists just as concerned as you are about child protection and special measures are always taken by naturist organisations against potential abusers but, contrary to popular opinion, there is no evidence that exposure to naturism has any harmful effects on children whatsoever.
Such evidence as does exist points in the opposite direction with countries where exposure to adult nudity is common reporting significantly later age of first sexual experience and lower rates of teenage pregnancy.
If you are interested I will take the time to look up the relevant publications.

 8) I think I will keep coming to Corralejo so friendly for our naturist lifestyle holiday.
We are naked all the time on the beach  and in the dunes just out side Corralejo a full two weeks of nakedness I walk for miles naked along the beach and dunes, many more naturists than textiles. I only have any cloths on near or in the hotel. We see the same people year after year all enjoying themselves being naked in the sun.   What more could you ask for ???
8) Cheers Sunpics.

Sounds like our El Cotillo holiday except that I only dress if we go to a restaurant - otherwise nude 24/7.

Peteandfreddi

Naturism in Caleta is fine at each end of the Atlantico beach , this area used to be THE naturist area before the big hotels were built and the textiles tried to take over. If you fancy a walk to Salinas you can walk naked right upto the museum car park, alittle further and you can take a bear at the fish restaurant/ pub at Salinas.  Enjoy your hol.

Just curious. Besides the local to the airport, what do people find appealing about Caleta? In my view the tourist environment is antithetical to the philosophy of a naturist.  However, as someone raised in an American environment, I recognize my perspective may not be complete.

I can't imagine many naturists head for Caleta.  If you read the original post, it seems that the only reason the OP was going to Caleta was because of a cheap hotel deal.  On a similar basis, we've stayed in Costa Calma in the past, but always head off in the car each day to the glorious beaches further south.

I have never visited Caleta, not being willing to put on clothes just to visit, but from the descriptions in holiday brochures, what I read in the forum and what quick views of it from the air which I have had I cannot imagine my wishing to stay there, even if I was not a naturist.

Caleta has 2 beaches that offer calmer waves for young children. It is also near to 2 golf courses.
Not for everyone , but as a golfer with young children , it's ideal.
We as a family aren't naturists , but believe everyone to their own.
We would explain to our 8 year old that some people don't wear clothes , because they feel freer & like an all over tan. The same as we explained to him when he saw 2 men holding hands that people of the same sex can be in love, just like mummy & daddy.
Children aren't prejudiced , it's their parents that are.
I would consider joining a naked golf society.

Thank you for that response, TheCooler.
I fully understand that others find that combination to be just the thing.
To that end, I append the sig file which i use on most other forums.

Thanks. I'm not a golfer, but I understand the appeal. And with the kids, I see how the location is convenient.  It is still a big island, there are many ways to enjoy it.
